And ched said "let there be things to do for my beloved worshipers", and there were things to do, this is the day the gym and crimes appeared on this world, and ched said this was good, this was the 2nd day.
And ched said "let there be an inescapable void for the naysayers", and there was an inescapable void which he called fed, and ched said fed was good, this was the 3rd day.
And ched said "let there be a way for my beloved to work together", and there was, on this day factions and companies were created, and ched said these were good, this was the 4th day.
And ched said "there must be ways for my beloved to prosper", and there was, this was the day he created the stock market and the wonderful flowers that people will travel far and wide for, and ched said these things were good, this was the 5th day.
And ched said "there must be balance in all things", and there was, this is the day he created the casino so that the prosperous would be humbled from time to time, and ched said the casino is good, this was the 6th day.

Recent events in torn have just been completely ****ed up, I'm an unknown player I don't know many people on the game and I don't speak to many people on the game so I like to think I have an unbiased opinion on a few of the things that have happened.
In regards to Midknight the rules were very clear and they were clearly broken, the sentence for breaking such rules were clearly stated. The reason people are getting so annoyed about it is because he was a well known player, had I of committed the same offence and received the same punishment not 1 person would have jumped to my defence, people would have looked and seen I broke the rules and was therefor punished and that would of been the end of it. I'm sorry but some people need to take a step back and look at it from an outside perspective. I didn't know the guy and I have no affiliation with SA so this is nothing personal this is just my opinion on what happened.
Now to Diva, If she made an innocent mistake then I feel really bad for her, her reputation and quite possibly her enjoyment of the game have most likely been diminished due to her name coming out as the staff member who made this error, everyone at one point or another ****s up but to have everyone gather round and point the finger in the way which this thread has went it's a bit out of order but in saying that not everyone is perfectly capable of doing every job so if Diva struggles with the job then perhaps the job isn't for her. Again I have never spoken to her so this is an unbiased opinion. Also if it was an intentional act then the only reasonable solution is federal jail for 999 days, that is up to staff and ched to decide whether it was an accident or not and they have made that decision.
Marc, I agree with transparency and would like to see more of it when it comes to staff and federal jailings, I'm glad you created this thread I do feel we should be aware of things like this it's just a shame that Diva's name came out which I know wasn't you who dropped the name. I would like to know why you and other staff members stepped down I feel it's in the public interest to know this but I understand some things can't be said publicly but when Ched announces he wants a more democratic feel to rules and to the game I feel its a bit hypocritical for the public to be kept in the dark but I understand that you for the time being can't say why due to no doubt getting yourself sent to fed.
Ched sort this shit out, the rules of the game are fine as they are, they aren't archaic and personally I feel there is no need to even discuss it with the public. The rules are clearly set out, the punishment for breaking those rules is clearly set out if people choose to break these rules they need to be punished, the vast majority of players don't break the rules and still enjoy the game. ok I didn't vote and honestly couldn't be arsed to read all 6 pages but here is my view xD
I don't think we need all these cashier cheques and protection after sales there is already ways to deal with it if you are somewhat active, either be quicker than the mugger and store the cash, get a friend or even advertise in the newspaper for a random to mug you and pay them to do so or ghost trade with someone.
As for the mugging amounts I think in some areas it could do with a tweak, I'm thinking that the amount stolen from smaller amounts should be smaller and from larger amounts should be larger and here is why, it's alright for people with places to store their cash be it a vault, company or faction or whatever else you choose it's more for newer players who have nothing, they get hit pretty hard, small time players get f**ked with this mugging, to someone with only 1mil to their name who has spent ages working for it and thinks they are doing well to get hit once and get hammered for 10% its a bit much ( I know with slutting and flower running 1mil is easy to make but hopefully you see where I'm coming from).
On the flip-side if some retard is sitting there with 10b on hand either for long enough or without taking precautions then they deserve to lose more than 100mil and even if they do lose the 100mil they still have 9.9b on hand they clearly could easily make that 100mil back.
So yeah I didn't vote as there is no clear option in my opinion, some to me need to be lower and some need to be higher but all this talk of added protection from bazaar sales is ridiculous, you can close the bazaar when you sleep, you can travel, you can get city watch etc etc etc, there are many tools to help yourself if you are going to trade so make use of them, the only extra protection needed in this way is for the people who play poker and either timeout or get kicked from table.
I clicked this thread also hoping that what ever content was within would also make me smile, the anticipation was overwhelming as I read through it then I got to this line:

If you enjoy playing this game you should get this thread deleted and say sorry to the guy, whether you believe you are in the right or not that is irrelevant, you have painted a big target on your back and by creating this thread you have made that target even bigger as you have seen with Beerstein's response.
If you engage in a bounty war with the other guy all you will achieve is spending the rest of your days in hospital and bankrupting yourself in the process, he will win a bounty war with you and then as we have seen with this thread which some may view as a kind of whining thread you will eventually come to the forums to complain and whine and announce you are quitting and call all torn players a bunch of pricks which the torn community will get a laugh out of because the torn community is full of pricks.
In short either suck it up and try to repair the situation or keep doing what you are doing and the torn community will eagerly await your whining quitting thread so they can get a good laugh out of it. [:dizzy:]
I'm sure isis are allowed to make a second or third account or as many as they wish as long as it's different members that are playing the accounts it should be fine. [:dizzy:]
I often find myself in a similar position where I just don't know why I still bother to log in, I usually end up taking a few weeks/months away and then come back and chase something, right now its the cannabis OD merit but once i eventually have that I will probably disappear again for a while. I should probably just retire properly instead of this half arsed version of retirement.
My advise would be to keep all your stuff because you never know, an update or a particular merit or something may get you playing again and you may regret giving it all away but on the other hand maybe coming back to an account with no money may give you that incentive to set a goal, perhaps to make it all back. Only you will know what is right for you.
I look forward to the thread that gets made when duke feels 10% is too low and decides 20% or 25% is a fairer price for his services and when you refuse you and your employees then become the targets. [:dizzy:]
I'm not saying this will happen but if it does it certainly wouldn't surprise me, in my opinion that is 1 of 2 possible ways that this is going to end, the other is duke takes your 10% and doesn't bother giving the protection in the first place.
