Since ver 0.2.x Torn app stopped loading the browser, whether internal or external, doesn't matter.

App just stays on the settings page no amount of setting combo makes it work, reinstalling the app neither.

"Back to torn" and "logout" buttons don't work, any setting doesn't stick either despite keeping the selected options on app restart.

Notifications work, but only with the settings setup up on a fresh install.

Android 4.4.2

LogCat

App version 0.1.14 crashes as soon as I open it after update.

If I clear the settings and open the app it asks me for the login credentials, all seems fine until I press the "continue" button after the little welcome screen after login in for the first time, app continues to crash afterwards as soon as I open it.

on my N 7.1.2 device also Samsung (same apps as the KK device) but with LineageOS all is fine.

Same here on all major browsers.

 

EDIT: To add a little something, if you press the keys (AWDS) to move, FireFox takes like any normal webpage and starts searching as it is its normal behavior.

Given the nature of the show all I can think about is information, some dirty guests secrets, information on some kind of bio-alloy so that they can truly merge with the humans, or something more simple like bypassing the safety measure that blows them up if  they try to leave the park, so far only Maeve has that and she had to be rebuilt without it. Maybe something far fetched like some kind of biological weapon, seriously, It can be anything >_

The show is not for everyone, you actually have to pay attention or you will miss an important piece of info (visual or auditory) that you will need to piece together the puzzle (for each episode and the entire season) and fully enjoy the show, for some reason people can't do that nowadays and then label the show as boring and/or too convoluted.

Dolores embracing the Wyatt narrative is awesome, no bs and no nonsense about it which is only one side of the triangle; we have Maeve with an equal willingness for chaos but with a little more brain behind it and finally Bernard, the most human of them all hosts, I feel he will side with the humans come seasons end, after all he "WAS" human. I like how all the roles have changed, for better or worse.

Trying to give a theory about this is like finding a memory leak without debugging the app... but I will give you the most obvious one, Bernard will side with the humans and stop Dolores from reaching the weapon first (we actually saw this or part of this already); Maeve will follow the bread crumbs to another park (which will turn out part of the narrative anyway) and the rest of the hosts that embrace their awakening will have to hide in other parks. I am pretty sure I am 99% wrong and I love it.

Funny story, my friends and I tried to wait for the whole show to be available to binge watch, this IS the show to do that but we failed miserably, we lasted for a day but I am pretty sure one of them gave up on the idea earlier than that.

The previous crash that seemed to be related to the notification's problem was a one time event, after clearing the settings and trying to replicate the error to confirm it is a real problem I couldn't do it.

Right now the app just crashes as soon as it tries to load the torn browser, if I set it to use the normal internet browser (firefox in my case) it works as expected.

The only thing that has changed is that I turned off notifications, everything went south after that.



EDIT: Clearing settings fixes it, can't reproduce the error after clearing the settiings, maybe a one time thing.

Happens on KK (4.4.4) and N (7.1.2) for me, both Samsung devices.

I was a teen when they became famous and I just fell in love with Dolores voice, I loved the fact that pretty much everything about her singing style is a homage to her heritage, a great loss.

It never gets old when you find these types of comparison on the web, comparing completely different worlds with completely different set of rules is just juvenile (fun).

As per the thread, LotR for me, it has the most grounded set of rules of the 3 and the best application of "magic", 1st age: lots of magic, 2nd age: with the division between elves and men widening it started to wane for men and a recovering period for Elves, 3rd age: pretty much only already powerful beings could wield magic, 4th age: with the departure of Elves magic would pretty much leave with them.

PS, Targaryens are pretty much ASoIaF's Elves.

PS2, Sauron was never a flaming eye.

PS3, Any chapter of The Silmarillion blows away all 3 of these out of the water as far as scope and story.

I believe you mean the best of the whole series(?) and while I don't share that thought, I do think it is one of their finest episodes.

To add to this thread, to me their best episodes are: San Junipero, Hang the DJ, White Christmas and Black Museum. They don't really have bad episodes, more like episodes simply not in line with ones view of the portrayed subject.

I find it interesting that for a series known for their "dark" take on technology that their best episodes are of a somewhat upbeat tone.

Most Anime is made for mass consumption for a profit hence it tends to be generic without real depth, just a lot of spectacle for entertainment purposes.

However, you generalize anime as something it is not, which is simply wrong, no other traditional animation in the world holds a candle to the best that anime has to offer, just take some movies from one studio, Ghibli, Princess Mononoke, Whisper of the Heart, My Neighbor Totoro, Spirited Away, Grave of the Fireflies and The Tale of the Princess Kaguya to name a few and people that have seen them will probably say something like "ok, this guy ain't that crazy, some of those are good", which is something you will never know as per your generalization.

To be honest I don't know why I bothered myself to reply to you, I conceded that most anime (specially tv shows) is bad and yet you reply to me like seeking validation that ALL anime is bad, I am not interested in changing your mind, I am gonna finish by telling you that never 100% of something is black OR white.

Is Anime great?? yes it is; is most Anime generic garbage?? yes it is

I do something similar but I just can't finish something if I am not ineterested in it, either it holds my attention or bye bye. My background noise is always something I like (concerts, movies or tv shows) which is weird because I am not really watching it, I guess it doesn't feel like a waste of time (and electricity) if it is that way.

It's been like that for a while IMO, kinda like 4-5 good episodes per season for the past 2(?) seasons.

I can't be bothered to watch it live anymore... on a sunday night.... that says a lot.

I keep coming to it just to see the differences between comic and tv show, that's about it.

One massively overrated show (AoT), one decent anime (Trigun) IMO and a lot of generic stuff.

The truth is that most anime is generic garbage, kinda like pop music, there's a formula and it works, it's not gonna change as long as it continues to be profitable.

However, there is some great anime but you will have to dig deep and trust other's opinions about it if you want to find one that you might like and not waste time.

Given your anime list... all your points fit perfectly according to what you have watched. I respect your rant but it's just that.
