Okaron's Stash - Giveaway · · 28 likes

Game's Over, guys. Thanks so much to everyone who played.

Been a while since I've done anything on here. Let's see how it goes.

So, this challenge will last a week. Each day, I'll upgrade the quality of the items given away.

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX EXPIRED XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Up for grabs today will be:

White Senet Pawn (Aryore)
Black Senet Pawn (Aryore)
Can of Munster x3 (ghosty)
Xanax (gavcol69)
$3,000,000 (fogotten)

Plus, everyone who participates will get 100k. (One per poster.)

So here's how it works.
Answer these three questions as best you can:

What defines a good person?

If you could have any super-power, what would it be? (Bonus question - How would you use it? Earn an extra 50k for answering it.)

What're you most passionate about? (Can be anything, honestly. I'll even accept joke answers. Won't net you the big prizes unless they're actually amusing, though.)

First three people to post have to say a number. Can be any number from 1-5. From this, I will set up the second and third stage of the giveaway for today.

That's pretty much it for just now. Starting off simple.

You sent your Xanax to gavcol69 with the message: Congrats, you've won one of Okaron's pieces of treasure!
You sent your Can of Munster to ghosty with the message: Congrats, you've obtained a piece of Okaron's treasure! Pt. 3
You sent $3,000,000 to fogotten with the message: You've found a lump sum of Okaron's treasure! Congrats! Okaron's Stash
You sent your Black Senet Pawn to Aryore with the message: Okaron's Artefacts! -Okaron's Stash-
You sent your White Senet Pawn to Aryore with the message: Okaron's Artefacts! -Okaron's Stash-

STAGE TWO

Congrats to the winners thus far.
The next stage of the hunt for Okaron's stash has been decided by...Zbangwa!
He chose number 4, which is a Send-And-Receive contest.
Send me an item that you find interesting and explain why. I'll send back a piece of Okaron's stash which will now be any of the following:

Xanax (x3) (ghosty)
Can of Red Cow (x3)
Lottery Voucher (x3) (x2 - Daub --- x1 - gavcol69)
$5,000,000 (Cassie812)

Just a note! If you don't feel comfortable sending me an item of value, you can send me a brick with a follow-up post on here about an actual item you find interesting. I will, however, send the item right back after you've posted.

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXEXPIREDXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

STAGE THREE

Congrats to all the people who have taken part and gotten their fair share of goodies from Okaron's Stash.
The next part of this will be called The Path.
Post a single word, it can be anything you want. Every now and then, I'll leave a post containing the words "Stash!" or "Dread!". If it's Stash, an automatic prize is given TO THE NEXT PERSON WHO POSTS AFTER ME AND ONLY THAT PERSON. If it's Dread, the next person who posts has to choose between three cards listed below the word Dread. Each one will have a different outcome, either no prize, a cash prize, or an item. The cash and item won't always be amazing, so bear that in mind. It can be anything from $10 to $1,000,000. The items can be completely random.

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX EXPIRED XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

STAGE FOUR

Stage Four is called Keep 'em Guessin'!
Keep 'em Guessin' is a game handed down by Okaron himself, where the players must choose a card out of four of them. To keep it fair and to stop players from choosing all the cards, only one card can be chosen. This card will be chosen out of five or more votes for which card to flip.

How To Play:
1) The player chooses a single card from the selection shown.
2) Each card has a set "prize" under it. Which prize it could be is entirely random. The nature of the prizes could be good, or bad.
3) Each player gets a go at choosing a card.
4) The selections are tallied, and the resulting winner will be flipped.
5) The rest of the cards will be "burned", meaning both they, and the prizes under them, will disappear.
6) What the player could have won from the other cards will be shown and then offered later on in the next game.

Finally, every set of cards has a mini-game under one, and a trap under another. The mini-game can be anything. The trap can be anything from no prize to something a little deadlier.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxEXPIREDxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

STAGE FIVE

The Abomination Among Us...

This game will be a little different than the others, and perhaps a little more complicated. In this one, there will be a strict process of elimination, but not of cards, of players.
This one is about survival, you're entering the hornet's nest now and only a little while away from Okaron's living quarters.
His minions will be the ones doing the hunting...for now.

Here's how it works; there are three parts to this stage:

1) The Fork. The Fork is the first issue you'll find, you'll have to choose a path. But instead of only going for one like with the cards, whoever votes for what will go down that path...

2) The Ramifications. Every action has a consequence. Only one path is entirely correct. You may choose to team up, or choose to go it alone. You never know, certain situations may call for a helping hand.
One of the three paths will eliminate you from the game unless certain conditions are met. (You may always rejoin in Stage Six if they aren't, though.)
One of them will hold a prize but have a deadend, meaning you'll have to wait for the group that got it right to make their next move before you can make yours.
One of the paths will be correct, and this may even lead you to either a bit of information on your "gracious" host, or a prize found along the way. Or both.

3) Minions. The minions are the dreaded vampires sired from Okaron's own depraved methods. Sometimes, you may find one along the way, which means you'll have to make a decision about what to do. If they catch you out, you are eliminated from the
round. Again, everyone gets to choose what to do and that choice will be theirs from the list provided.

STAGE SIX

Summary
:
Okaron has allowed you all access to his personal realm, the risks are higher, the rewards are greater, and perhaps you may even learn something about the mysterious Okaron and Draj.

How It Works:
This is the final stage and it does get a little complicated from here.

Karma:
One must make the choice whether they decide to work with the amoral Okaron, or the compassionate Draj. As the game goes along, you'll find different choices to make which will give you Karma Points, making you lean more toward Draj or Okaron. At the end of the stage, you'll be given the choice to choose a side.

Class:
At the beginning of this stage, you'll be given your choice of path to follow. The path you choose at the very beginning of this stage is the most important, as it will define the weapon you receive and possible benefits you may reap.

Sin/Miracle:
In certain pathways, you'll come across Sins and/or Miracles. Both will offer the chance to obtain aSpecial Item, and depending upon your Karma Points, you'll find yourself in possession of either a Special Item or a Curse that lasts one round.

Curses:
A curse is something Okaron has left in certain areas, they also play into Karma, as someone may offer to take the Curse for another, causing the Martyrdom effect to take place, which offers bonus Karma Points.

Special Items
: They're still present and useful as ever, in this particular Stage, certain useless Special Items now become very handy. e.g. The small suitcase can now give you +2 to your Inventory.

Inventory:
You can carry three items at any given time. This does not include your weapon/armour.

Resolve: You start with ten resolve points. These can be used to go into combat with creatures and make dangerous decisions. You can gain or lose resolve points through certain paths.

Humanity: You lose humanity every time you die. When all of your humanity is gone, you become a vampire yourself and are removed from the game. You start with three humanity points. Humanity can be gained in conjunction with Karma Points. If you do something heroic or selfless, you can gain humanity points.

Combat: Occasionally, you'll run into vampires or other such creatures in the domain. You can choose to fight or attempt to sneak around them. Vampires are much, much harder to sneak around and will require the specific class that can do so to do it. If you choose to fight them, a sequence will play out where you'll attempt to beat them, depending on how high your resolve is, you'll kill them, or be wounded, or even killed yourself. The enemy will sometimes actually be seen with the amount of resolve needed to kill them noted down. But vampires will ALWAYS be mysteries, so you can't determine how many resolve points you'll need to kill them.

Factions: Players can join together in factions to improve their chances of beating enemies, or finding the best treasure. Players in factions have a much higher chance of being caught when attempting to sneak, plus, whatever decision one player makes, the rest of the players have to make. Factions can only be three players max in each faction.

People who donate to the game are very welcome to ask me for a place on the forum front page. I really appreciate the help.
  • You were sent $250,000 from Barbossa with the message: small donation for your FnG thread

Right, without further ado, let's get started.

It's a tie.

Don't worry, no unnecessary fights or anything to make this last longer. Today's the final day.

First of all, I'd like to thank everyone for letting this go on so long. You've all been wonderful, and great sports. Whether you were in it for the prizes, or the story itself. Or both.
I still really, really appreciate you all making this experiment such a success.

Everyone

With the two making their claims to the final prize, they walk into the vault's final room and take a look at what was on the little altar in the middle. There appeared to be a set of precious orbs. Very rare stones, only made by Okaron himself. They looked to be different colours, and looked almost like gems, though far more beautiful, shimmering in what little light there was. They seemed to have a sort of luminescence. Above them was a neat little sign that read; "Tearstones".
You both resolved to simply giving sharing the prize, finding an appropriate buyer, but making sure that you kept one each for yourselves.

You all looked at eachother. Friend, foe, whatever you were, you were all finished. Draj smiled at you all, and, wiping a small amount of blood from his scratched cheek, chuckled to himself pleasantly.
"I think you all deserve an escape from all this. Thank you for everything, my friends. Whether you sided with me, or with my foe, I know none of you intended for any of this to happen. Your bravery and steely resolve right up to the very end has shown me a side of humanity I've very rarely seen. I wish you luck in all your future endeavours."
He gave a final smile before clapping his hands softly, causing a ripple of light to suddenly blind you all before you were taken to your respective homes.
On your beds, a couple of weeks having passed, you all found a note from Draj himself. "Thank you, one more time. I've left a little something for you. I've returned to my pack, who all thank you from the bottom of their hearts for my safe return.

Exmortalis left his sanctuary after Okaron disappeared, he now spends his days in a beautiful temple where he can meditate and be with like-minded individuals.

Solace decided to try his hand at family life, believing it was about time to settle down and protect his own loved ones, rather than strangers. He still looks out into the world and wishes you all the best.

Ferasol returned to his favourite bars all across the realms, and made friends in many of them. His bar-fights are countless, but his heart was, I'm certain, in the right place.

Daedalus kept up his work, continuing to make new weapons, but instead, he found a new client. Apparently, he's now working as a very well-paid arms dealer in the realm Purgeum, specifically geared towards supplying demi-gods, security taskforces and multiple other protectors with special weapons.

Ishara lost her Master, but stayed behind to look after the other vampires who were mindless without Okaron. As it turns out, my sources have let me know that she has found a way to heal vampires, bringing them to the state they were in before they turned.

Heretic seemingly had no interest in Okaron's demise. However, I have seen him lobbying around my pack pups at night, telling them stories of the son who had existed before Okaron became what he was. Seems without Okaron, he's become quite bored.
I've told him he can continue telling stories as long as he promises not to make any bargains for souls. He agreed... begrudgingly.

Sioris, my mother, has visited my pack and I constantly, training some of them the same way she taught me. She says she occasionally drops by to keep an eye on all of you. She told me to mention she's very proud of all of you.

The fish from the palace has found joy in a natural spring not far from where Exmortalis is staying. Exmortalis claims the younger nuns-in-training have complained about a very rude, seemingly disembodied male voice making obscene comments about them while they bathe in the spring.

Riston continued his work with the dead, never leaving his desk. He claims he has plenty of company in the Symbol of Life often visiting him and the two of them enjoying a bottle of wine together.

Okaron himself... hm. I just can't wrap my head around it. I believe he may have died, but the strangest thing happened. My dagger disintegrated recently. I can't for the life of me think why, but I do know a couple of pack members have claimed seeing a built-up man with styled, dark hair looking up into the moonlight from the top of a tree. Before they could approach, he'd "disappear". Curious...

All in all, I hope this letter finds you in good health. If you ever wish to visit, please. Your company would be more than welcome here.

Regards,

Draj Ingraseo."

With a smile, you look out the window, ready for the next big adventure that might come your way.

Player-Written Books/Library · · 1 like

Given the fact this is a Text-Based MMORPG, I was thinking it might be interesting to give players a chance to write their own books which could then be sold to other players.

There would not need to be a minimum/maximum length, and it would give players a chance to let their creative juices flow into something productive.

To put a bit more detail on this, for it to be effective, players could purchase a type-writer or use the in-game laptop/personal computer to write books. If you wanted to be technical, you could also add in a genre/type selection so players could specify just what it is they're writing, be it a fantasy novel, a thriller, a joke book, or even an autobiography.

Once the player finishes the book, there could also be a word/page count added on to specify just how long it is, just for players who prefer shorter or longer books (Believe me, people make this specification more often than not. Ha.).

The player would get something called a "Manuscript" in their inventory, which they could then get changed into an actual book with the correct materials, and then they could self-publish (Put it in their own bazaar, advertise it on the forums, etc.)
They could use their computer to make more copies of it, perhaps giving them a tiny charge of like $5 or $10 every time they print out another copy.

Or they could send it to a publisher, which could fall under a member of staff, who would then determine the value of the book and decide if it was worthy of putting in a section called the "Bookstore" or even " Library", where players could either pay or rent the book out.

The latter option allows players to see the books that would be deemed of good quality and not just bait left by trolls. Of course, with the correct advertising, and perhaps even allowing players to add a description to their book (a blurb, if you will), the self-published crowd could work their way through, too.

This actually opens the door to a lot of new possibilities. Business owners could write up manifestos, rulebooks, even contracts if they wanted to get serious. Gamemasters could write up smaller versions of their forum games. Veterans could write tips for newer players. Other players could even offer editing/cover art services.

Yes, this system has its flaws, and there are a few exploits, such as troll books being sold for stupid amounts of money, or potential editors/artists could rip off people's ideas, etc.

But hey, it's an idea. Plus, as a crime-based RPG, you can expect this to not always be so legitimate.

Hey, guys.

Sorry to keep you all waiting, but I do have a bit of bad news.

It sucks, but I won't be able to keep up with the game at this rate. I underestimated how busy I actually am, and a lot of these posts take quite some time to work on. Each one can take longer than the one before, as you get more and more divided.

That said, all is not lost.

Everyone who was a part of this will receive a consolation prize.

While this part of the year I wasn't able to finish this one, I will be posting something closer to Christmas.

Thanks so much for taking part, and I should hope you all keep being awesome.

Regards,

Jake/Epiphany

They found themselves staring at a lock suspended in mid-air, bringing the key to the lock and sliding it in.

>suspended in mid-air

The lock had no place in the room itself until it appeared there.

The room itself is one located in what one might deign a normal house, if one were to exclude the obvious addition of the pools of blood, the gore, etc.

With this in mind, the room is basically normal enough and hence, has windows.

That said, apologies for the confusion. As I said, I'm pretty much winging this as I go along. I know the final point of the game, but the overarching point is that all of these environments are generally improvised on the spot, late at night. Heh.

EASY

Assist (DoinYaMom-QGunner-Ryvian-Stork-Kingoflegends)

The group assisted the man, using their weapons to rend open the bull and quickly drag the scorched body out. The man huffed and heaved, smoke trailing from his marked, visibly burned frame. He groaned in pain, likely only the bare minimum of what he must have been feeling at that point.

The group knelt before him, mages looking for a page in the spell book to find something that could help him. But instead, he got up - rather nonchalantly - and then proceeded to brush himself off. He was still visibly scorched, but his skin appeared to be rapidly healing. He then pointed to the inside of the bull, which appeared to stop burning, and had a piece of paper inside it. How this paper survived was beyond understanding, but when a member reached for it, the entire group collapsed to the floor upon having a fierce hallucination of a white-haired man with purple eyes gazing at them, followed by the single word;

"STOP"

When the group came to, the man was gone. But he left behind a message etched into the now closed brazen bull.

"Follow the trail" The trail was indicated by the "l" in the trail being extended to the point it touched the floor and dragged across the stone floor. Something heavy had been dragging along the floor, and the group could see it led through a large hole in the dungeon wall, debris lined the outer part of the hole.

?What do you do?

1) Go through the hole and follow the trail.
2) Explore the rest of the dungeon.
3) Try to open the brazen bull one last time.

Explore the Dungeon (Yggdrasil_PH)

Exploring the dungeon yielded little in return. Yggdrasil gazed at their surroundings, still noting the cleanliness. It wasn't until finding a small tool left on one of the tables that they found something slightly notable. The tool was soaked in blood, and appeared to be a thumbscrew, recently used. But why was it that only the tool was soaked in blood, and there appeared no other stains or pools of blood anywhere else?

As Yggdrasil pondered the tool, they heard the door open.

What do you do?

1) Confront the person entering the room.
2) Hide.

MEDIUM

Charming the Harlot (DK1993 - LordSam)

Correct: I didn't know this place hired angels.

She smiled, rolling her eyes a little at the tired, though flattering line. She let her guard down a little and then folded her arms.

"So, what DO you want? People looking like you don't typically come in here for a bit of fun."

What do you do?

1) Now that her guard's down, swipe the necklace and run.
2) Now that her guard's down, surprise attack.
3) Say: "Oh, I'm just in the market for something sweet. Think I found it."
4) Say: "I'm looking for a necklace to add to my collection, where'd you get yours?"

Courtroom (Jesmond-Sircastic)

Expressing Sadistic Intent

With a maniacal cackle, the two expressed their intent to continue their actions. The jury gasped, the judge banging the gavel once more before addressing the jury.

"Jurors, make your deliberation, if you would." The judge seemed to ask as though it didn't require much thought, as though it were almost obvious what they'd say. Most courts back on Earth needed to have at the very least a few hours before they'd reach a proper verdict. But sure enough, the jury addressed the matter quickly.

"We find the defendants guilty of the murder of Miss. Messelir." As these words were spoken, the background began to almost melt. It was as though the conditions needed for this task had been met. As though the environment had something external changing it.

"I sentence you to death by hanging. May Isiodarul have mercy on your souls." The judges final words as the environment completely shifted, and in front of both Jesmond and Sircastic, a small key and a door. Using the key on the door, they gripped their heads in agony as they too suffered the vivid hallucination.

"NO FURTHER" A voice boomed as the two men collapsed. They found themselves in a dreamscape... and strangely aware they were in one. It was pitch-black just now, but there appeared to be colour fading in.

What do you do?

1) Wake up.
2) Keep dreaming.

Try to Escape (Nujanator)

Vezeltrexia followed Nujanator after just a couple of steps, the sound of their feet patting along the ground sprung it to action as it leapt over and swung its pendulum shaped tails over at the wall in front, to cause the inside of the wall to collapse onto Nujanator before they leapt back, bouncing off the creature as it quickly let it's heavy claws clamp onto the hunter. With Nujanator running out of time, they used the last bit of effort they could muster to attack the creature with a final spell, a large blade of pure energy sliced through the creature, causing it to shriek and collapse within seconds. The claws still hanging on, limply.

What do you do?

1) Search Vezeltrexia.
2) Leave the area.

Write Something with Blood (Ekko)

Upon writing on the papers with the blood, Ekko found themselves witnessing a scene. There were the shadows of two people, one of whom was brutally battering the other. With a final scream, the battered silhouette tumbled to the ground. Ekko heard a splash, and all too suddenly, they found themselves soaked in blood.

The blood of the victim.

But, within the small pool of blood, they could see a key. They had made the right choice.

They found themselves staring at a lock suspended in mid-air, bringing the key to the lock and sliding it in.

"CLOSER" It boomed through the room, shaking it violently as Ekko tumbled onto their knees, looking for a quick exit.

What do you do?

1) Try to find an exit through the corridor.
2) Jump through one of the pitch-black windows.
3) Go up the narrow staircase into the darkness.

Music Box Path (Thornsplitter-AceArtemis)

The music box path took the two of them onto what appeared to be an abandoned carousel. The horses on the carousel were instead what looked like rabid wolves, and the poles sticking them to the ground were more akin to spears impaling them.
The morbidity of the ride only made it that much more unsettling as they approached the control panel, a small fusebox with an even smaller panel next to it that had three options.

What do you do?

1) Press the "On" button"
2) Press the "Resurrect" button
3) Find another way out.

?IMPOSSIBLE

Sneak Around It (Wilmife-Whittlinman-Getrich)

Sneaking around it seemed the best option as the group took to shuffling around the creature and allowing it to continue its slumber. As the group found a cavern on the other side of it, they could also see that jutting out from under the creature was a solid gold blade. The blade was clearly for ornament only, but it had been brought here... was it temptation? Or something else?

What do you do?

1) Sneak out through the cavern.
2) Try to take the weapon.
3) Get the jump on the creature.

Try To Reason With Pydrigul (Jdawg011)

Reasoning with this monster would be the last thing Jdawg011 would do in most situations, as it would normally be a matter of fight or flight. But as they attempted to speak with it, the creature slowed and reached an arm out.

"Diplomacy. The mark of a leader." It bellowed as it fell back, disappearing the second it hit the ground, leaving behind a gravestone with a fairly regular name upon it.

Jonathan Oaklee
"Humans Don't Belong Here" - Was all that was written beneath the name. Etched in with a claw or knife... they couldn't tell.

It appeared as though humans who entered this realm normally weren't going to leave, if they somehow managed to get in in the first place.

There was a great gem beneath the stone, a shimmering emerald that seemed to be completely out of place here.

What do you do?

1) Take the gem and leave.
2) Leave.
3) Take the gem and inspect it.

Right Pillar (QGunner-DoinYaMom-Ryvian-Stork)

Followers of Exmortalis went through the right pillar. That was what was said. As they went through, there was no resistance when touching the pillar itself. It was as though they were touching a portal disguised as a solid object.
Going through, they found themselves in a whole new area, what appeared to be a dungeon.

The dungeon was filled with all sorts of devices used for torture, or worse. The flooring and walls were blood-encrusted stone, as seen with dungeons of old. What stood out was the brazen bull in one of the corners. It was lit. Not only that, the sounds from inside were unmistakable. Someone was inside.

What do you do?

1) Find a way to assist.
2) Find a way out.
3) Let the person die and then check inside the bull.

Left Pillar (Yggdrasil_PH)

The pillar had led Yggdrasil to a whole new area, but fundamentally the same as the good location. It was a dungeon, but it looked fresher. As though, someone had cleaned it. Not simply that, but there appeared to be much more updated tools and devices laying around, organised neatly.

Yggdrasil considered their options when they realised there was a door ahead. Do they leave, or do they explore a bit?

What do you do?

1) Explore the dungeon.
2) Leave the dungeon.

Charming the Harlot (LordSam - DK1993)

The aim of the game is to hit 70% Synchro. Anything lower, you fail to charm the harlot and there's an off chance she might attack. Gain Synchro by choosing the most appropriate statements.

- Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't know this place hired angels.
- I'm on a secret mission from the mistress.
- Oooh, pretty necklace...
- Lovely night, huh?

Choose an option from the above.

The Courtroom
(Jesmond-Sircastic-Galabrielle) ((Quick note: This isn't how courtrooms work, to my knowledge. I'm just going by a very basic understanding of some of the things done in a courtroom.))

The group joined together to approach the bench, before reaching it, they heard the sound of a gavel being struck onto the pedestal. The room lit up with the apparitions of various deceased beings, some of different species. Then the judge appeared.

"You are hereby charged with the murder of Myliopra Messelir. How do you plead?"

PROVE YOURSELF INNOCENT (KEY PUZZLE) NOTE - Key Puzzles are special puzzles that offer you the chance to take a huge risk in exchange for a key to Simund's Prison. They also represent significant events in Corporean history, or certain "What if's". They are much more difficult, and usually result in death if failed. A huge hint is that the answers to these puzzles are usually what you'd least expect.

1) Not guilty, then explain your true purpose here.
2) Not guilty, then give a speech about morals.
3) Not guilty, then remain silent.
4) Not guilty, then ask for a lawyer's advice.
5) Not guilty, then ask for Exmortalis/Sehkult's help.
6) Not guilty, then defend yourself in combat.
7) Not guilty, then escape.
8) Guilty, but fight for your freedom.
9) Guilty, but try to express the deepest sorrows over what you did.
10) Guilty, then express your sadistic intent to continue your horrific acts.

The Hidden Path (Nujanator)

Littered with discarded goods and forgotten drinks, this looked as though it were a section of the brothel that was shut down for whatever reason. It wasn't until Nujanator felt something drop onto their head, something wet, that made them look up and realise the reason for it being closed and sealed.

VEZELTRIXIA

1) Try to escape.
2) Try to sneak away, perhaps it hasn't noticed you.
3) Attack.
4) Call for help.

HARD

The Broken Home - Pride's Bounty (Ekko)

"She's gone." That was all Ekko heard them say as they sobbed quietly over the clearly deceased. Ekko approached, putting their hand on the person's shoulder, who didn't seem to look up, or pay much attention. Ekko noticed the body was... not fresh. It was writhing with an infestation, and clearly had been there for quite some time. But the person continued to kneel there.

"I went away. Now she's gone. Fallen. His hand took her. I should never have given him my blessing." The person sombrely lifted the hand of the deceased girl, on it, there sparkled a still highly polished and well-tended to ring.

Within a few seconds, the man faded away. So did the girl. All that was left was a pool of blood and a pile of blank papers.

THE DIARY (Key Puzzle)

1) See if there were any discrepancies in the papers.
2) Soak the papers in the blood.
3) Write something into them with the blood.
4) Write something into them with your own blood.
5) Take them with you and explore other options to translating the blank pages.

Using the Key (AceArtemis - Thornsplitter)

Using the key on the lock suddenly set off a music box in the distance. One could hear an unfamiliar tone to it, though it sounded melancholy. The lock then revealed a door, which opened wide, revealing an additional path, and then another path to the left of it. One path clearly had the sound of the music box louder than the other, whereas the one that was quieter looked brightened, albeit dirty, dusty and the mirrors were completely dusted over.

What do you do?

1) Go down the music box path.
2) Go down the filthy path.

IMPOSSIBLE

Dig (Wilmife - Whittlinman - Getrich)

Opting to stick together, the small team took turns digging into the dirt, which began going under the shack itself, they couldn't find any trace of the thing that attacked Whittlinman, though the further they dug, the more they heard a certain rumbling that was certainly inhuman in origin. It wasn't until one final push that they dug right through the floor, it opening up and making them all fall into a cavern, surprisingly with no injury. The cavern wasn't far off from where the hatch was... they assumed. Though, it was different from the insides of the shelter. This cavern had a large creature sleeping, with what looked to be a bloody appendage sticking to one side of them. Tentacles lined the creatures sides, and a fine, shimmering back armoured its top, whereas the face was more like looking at that of a severely deformed mole. It had several legs, all much more spider-like in origin.

What do you do?

1) Sneak around it.
2) Get the jump on it.
3) Distract it.
4) Throw something at it.

Mutilation Mystery (Jdawg011)

Writing the answer down, Jdawg dropped the piece of paper on the ground and backed away, letting the growling creature approach and look at it, sniffing at it.

"Correct." Was all it had to say, ripping one of its own arms off before standing on its hind legs and roaring.

PYDRIGUL - Weakened Form

1) Attack.
2) Try to reason with it.
3) Run away.
4) Call upon Yig'Torin (Inactive: You do not have this familiar)

Will apologise ahead of time; sometimes I make mistakes and miss out certain bits of info. Should be noted that I'm sort of banging these out in a couple of hours at max with little to no planning. I just read most of what goes on and try to work with it.

(WARNING: THIS DOES GET QUITE GRAPHICALLY VIOLENT)

EASY

Step into the Flame (Joined by Ryvian)

It seemed ludicrous. What purpose would it serve? Surprisingly, after due consideration, and slight reluctance, the group stepped into the flame one by one. Instead of immediately catching fire, they found their bodies instantly disappearing.

It was evanescent; that feeling of immersion into another world. They didn't quite know if they were coming or going. All that was left was the emerging feeling that they were in somewhere they shouldn't be. They looked around the new room. It was a circular landing with stairs leading up at all sides. The landing had several pillars that surrounded it, with sigils etched into each one.
Before them stood Exmortalis, looking off into the distance. The landing appeared to be way up into the sky. There was nothing else viewable beyond the clouds.

"To reach Simund's prison and halt his release, you must first acquire three keys. These keys are a failsafe. If placed into the locks, they destroy the opening mechanism to the dimension, releasing any outsiders but trapping Simund permanently."

He continued, arms folded as he gazed out into the distance. "Here is where you make your choice. Those who are on Simund's side, go through the left pillar. Those who do not wish to release the tyrant, go through the right."

What is your decision? (So, here's where you get to split ways with the others alignment wise.)

1) Go through the right pillar. (Good)
2) Go through the left pillar. (Evil)
3) Jump through the middle. (Independence?) ((Note: Independence has NO perks affiliated with it. If you choose this route, BOTH sides are free to attack you, and vice versa. You can also attack other independent players. On Easy, no-one can die from PvP, there are simply rewards handed out to the winner. At worst, the health of the losing player goes down to 50.

MEDIUM

1) Find the Harlot (Joined by DarkStorm05)

Finding the harlot was harder than they imagined. There seemed to be quite a few women with necklaces. But then appeared the woman with the cat necklace, a oval-shaped cat's eye necklace. As they approached her, she looked at them with eyes of suspicion.

"Can I help you?" Not so interested in her job and more interested in self-preservation, or perhaps, the preservation of the necklace, she seemed to suspect that the group had something to do with the mistress.

What do you do?

1) Attempt to charm her into giving you the necklace. (Puzzle)
2) Attack. (Battle)
3) Attempt to manipulate another into helping you get the necklace.

FERASOL'S DRINKING GAME

"It's enchanted with Hak'nyl, bud. Swiggin' it's only gonna make things harder." Ferasol shook his head as the hunter who swigged it quickly gripped their own throat and choked somewhat before feeling their breath come back to them, only to find themselves weakened somewhat. (-5 Health)

"This guy's got the right idea. That's gonna hit ya hard and fast, tho'. Be ready." He gestured to the hunter who downed his drink, who looked at their fingers, curiously poking and prodding, expressing a strange interest in the table. The two hunters looked at one another, before Ferasol smashed his bottles over their heads all too suddenly.

"Night, fellas." (-10 Health to both of you.)

Waking up a short time later in what appeared to be an old courtroom, they looked around. Their pockets jingled, and when they dug around inside them, they found several coins. (+Equates to a cash sum, or an artefact coin. Congrats. Message me for the prize.)

What do you do?

1) Search around the courtroom.
2) Approach the bench.
3) Find a door.

WALL RIDDLE

"A worthy entrant." The wall seemingly gave way, opening up. But oddly enough, no-one appeared to notice. It was just the hunter, and the opened wall. They looked on the inside, and there sat a shimmering medallion in a small opening in the wall. (Message me with "Medallion" and I'll give you your reward.) They could go and rejoin the others to go further, or they could explore the extra section to the house of ill-repute, but would it lead to riches? Or a trap?

What do you do?

1) Go into the extra section.
2) Rejoin the others.

HARD

Pride's Bounty (Going down the path alone)

Walking down the path alone, the entryway slammed shut behind the hunter. They suddenly found themselves in a dimly illuminated hallway, the mirrors were gone. All that remained was ripped and filthy wallpaper lining the walls, hand-prints on the wall reminded them of some kind of horror movie. It wasn't until they reached a person kneeling quietly before what looked like a corpse that they realised what had happened. They weren't just exploring Simund's dimension. They were exploring a myriad of memories. Some more haunting than others.

What do you do?

1) Talk to the person kneeling.
2) Sneak around them.
3) Attack them from behind.

DEMON OF PRIDE

With one fell swoop, Thornsplitter struck the demon with his blade, it roaring in his face as it seemed as though the hit had barely any effect before the mirrors began to crack some. Ace rummaged through his grimoire, reading quickly before stopping on a page;

"Arckipol!" He yelled, the spell lit up the monster before manipulating the cracks, making it light up before it suddenly exploded, causing the both of them to drop to the floor in order to avoid the shards hitting them.

AceArtemis checked the spell book, but still had trouble making out the new spell. Perhaps later.

Within the remaining shards, there sat a small bag. Inside, there sat several pieces of silver, and a small key. Behind where the monster came from, there was a lock. (Message me for your prize.) They could use the key on the lock... or they could try to find the other hunter who left. Or they could see if there was anything left to see.

What do you do?

1) Use the key on the lock.
2) Go looking for any other hunters.
3) Explore one final time.

IMPOSSIBLE

Using the shovel on the Being

With the help of Wilmife, Whittlinman's wrist was released... though he was much weaker afterwards. (-10 Points -1 Strength)
Wilmife felt stronger for it. (+3 points) The hatch was closed, and there was now a very bloody severed hand on the mound of dirt from the thing that grabbed Whittlinman. It didn't take much, despite how strong it seemed.

What do you do?

1) Dig into the dirt with the shovel this time.
2) Look around outside.
3) Try to pry open the hatch.

Inside the Shelter

Going down the hatch, the hunter felt a certain strength coming to them. (+3 Life points). They felt evil for it, but that didn't stop them from continuing. They reached the bottom of the ladder and looked around, a consistent dripping made itself known as the hunter looked to the source. There was blood on the floor, and a pool of it building bit by bit. It seemed to be coming from a recently deceased creature, hung by a chain that rattled ever so slightly.

THE MUTILATION MYSTERY

Whatever happened to this creature, it was practically ripped apart. Something in the hunter told them to find out what happened, if they wanted to progress. There was parchment in front of the hung body, and the pool of blood that was in front of it seemed to act as a kind of... ink. Maybe... the hunter was to write what happened to the creature? But how could they when there was so little evidence?

Before long, there seemed to be a growling coming from inside the shelter. Shortly followed by a demonic sounding voice; "
For what profit is it to a man if he gains the world, but loses his own soul?"

Was that part of the answer to this? Explain why the creature was murdered...

Write on the parchment why this being was killed.

Not a terrible idea, though, it becomes more an issue with difficulties like hard or impossible, given that if you mess up on these difficulties, you're more prone to die.

That said, I can make a poll and see what people think. :)

Thanks for the suggestion!

Probe For Info

"You don't know who you're in bed with, do you?" He said, his head still pointed down at the fire and then throwing the thing he had in his hand into the flames. It had the words "To Okaron" on it. It was a letter.

As they continued asking him questions, he seemed rather vague in his replies. "Siding with an ender of worlds. Seems like someone has a death wish." He chuckled quietly before continuing to blankly stare at the flames.

It wasn't until probing about the letter did they get an answer.

"Step into the flame." It was the only thing he would say. The group looked at eachother and pondered their options.

What do you do?

1) Step into the flame.
2) Try to find a way out.
3) Attack the man.

MEDIUM

Ask For a Way Out

"Might I ask why you're seeking Simund's cell, deary?" The cat sprawled across the table, rolling around some before settling. The group attempted to explain their purpose, their various roles, and who they were sided with.

"That all seems quite solid, but I require something in exchange." She purred, coming to her request quite quickly before the group could deliberate on whether they wanted to help or not.

"One of my 'employees' holds a piece of stolen jewellery. I quite enjoy shiny necklaces. I would imagine it'd be no problem for one of you to reclaim it from her. Or for all of you to give her a sufficient beating and take it." Her tail swished about as they considered her request.

What do you do?

1) Accept the request and go out to try and find the thieving harlot.
2) Threaten the cat into giving you the info you want. (Anyone using Walafeas who chooses this option will lose Walafeas as a familiar if they do so.)
3) Find your own way.

Have a Drink

"Thinkin' you can hold your booze with the finest, huh? 'Kay. Let's light this candle." The man took the freshly placed bottle of beer on the table into his hand, flipping it and catching it once more, none of the liquid coming out, miraculously.

He split the bottle into two other bottles, exact clones. Passing them to the group members. He then took the bottle to his lips.

FERASOL'S DRINKING GAMES

1) Swig it.
2) Down it.
3) Slow sips.

WALL RIDDLE

"You have one chance remaining. You are close. Try again."

What do you do?

1) Straight answer.
2) Clue.
3) Ask Exmortalis.
4) Ask fellow players.

HARD

MAN'S GREATEST FOLLY

"Accepted." The broken mirror appeared to shift to the right, revealing a hidden passage and a small pedestal directly in front, the new path behind it. The pedestal held a small package on it. - Congratulations, you've earned a reward. This reward can be "sold" via messaging me with the words "Shard of Pride".

What do you do?

1) Call to the others to have them join you.
2) Go down the path alone.
3) Find another route.

Try To Find Cracks/Dig into the Crack

Trying to find cracks only led the person back to the other crack that their ally had found already. As he prepared to dig into the crack, the hunter assisted with additional force. It wasn't until the two of them were sent flying backwards against the other mirror that they realised they had made the wrong choice, a large, humanoid mirror creature stood there in front of them.

THE DEMON OF PRIDE

1) Attack.
2) Run.
3) Call for help.
4) Use Yig'Torin. (Inactive - You do not have this familiar.)
(SNEAK ATTACK INACTIVE/DRAGON/PHOENIX NOT SUMMONED)

IMPOSSIBLE

Dig into the Dirt

Curiosity overwhelmed the hunter as they dug around in the dirt, only to find their hand being firmly and suddenly gripped. With no weapon to assist, they attempted to use a move wherein they would break the wrist of the creature, but it didn't work. The grip held steady. Then, without warning, they were dragged in.

What do you do?

1) Make one last effort to attack.
2) Call out to your allies.
3) Pull as hard as you can.

Search the Shack

Searching proved fruitless until finding an old, slightly rusted shovel. They could see their ally was in danger of being dragged down into whatever hell this was. They then see a hatch swing open in the corner. They begin to hear a voice.

"Do not interfere, and find your reward."

What do you do?

1) Allow the hatch to close and assist Whittlinman.
2) Go down the hatch and leave Whittlinman to die or struggle for freedom.
3) Find another way altogether and leave Whittlinman to it.

(Apologies for the lateness with this one. Also, a quick note - Yes, alignments are still in place, and yes, you will be able to fight other sides. But I'd like to wait until you're more split up and experienced before I start giving you PvP options.)

EASY

Approaching the Man

He looked up for a second as they approached quietly from behind. The jingle of something metallic could be heard. The group found the man's voice unsettling as he seemed to notice them.

"Somewhat rude to sneak up on people, wouldn't you say?"

The man's voice had a tinge of darkness to it that the group couldn't quite grasp. It was almost as if he had a lingering sadness behind each word. A longing. But for what?

What do you do?

1) Probe the man for information. Perhaps he has something important to say.
2) Attack before he does. Or does he?

Find Another Path

There was something suspicious about the man sitting there. They decided to find another path, and this time, looked towards the edge of the vault where it is truly pitch-black. As the person looked around, they caught sight of something that seemed to be shivering there, in the corner. It wasn't just shivering. It was shaking. Contorting violently. The person took one glance at it and realised how repulsive it was, as their eyes adjusted to the darkness. It was very, very tall. A being composed of a black substance that formed a humanoid body, only almost that of a stick figure. It had elongated nails, but they looked brittle and jittery.

What do you do?

1) Rejoin the others and alert them to the creature's presence.
2) Attack the creature.
3) Talk to the creature.

MEDIUM

1) Entering the Office

The office was quiet as soon as the door had been shut. The group took one look at the desk, and it looked as though there was no-one there. Just a cat, resting soundly as it purred continuously. Some of the group found themselves tempted to look around for anything valuable. Some of them looking for any other doors that might lead them out.

"Can I help you?" There came the sound of a voice, a high voice speaking softly with a slight purr to its tone. As the group looked around for where it might have came from, they looked again to the cat, who suddenly stretched, sitting up.

"Hm. You look... lost." The female cat spoke with such a regal, refined tone behind each word, the group were slightly confused as to how a simple cat would be able to speak, much less present valid points.

What do you do?

1) Ask for a way out; and the location to Simund's Cell.
2) Attack the cat.
3) "Sister..." (Only for those who chose Walafeas; i.e. DarkStorm05)

2) Approach the drunk.

He didn't seem thrilled to see the person. If anything, he simply raised a brow and snorted as they approached.

"What do you want?" He said, eyes locked more on the women around him than the person.

What do you do?

1) Probe for information on where to go.
2) Attack the man.
3) Sit and drink with him.

Explore the Place

Not exactly a den of purity, the hunter felt slightly odd wandering through the burlesque house as they looked around for a way out. The men and women of the place seemingly got more friendly, frequently attempting to approach the hunter, but being shrugged away before they hit a wall.

THE HARLOT'S GAMBLE - Level 1 Riddle (As opposed to 2, 3, 4 or 5, 5 being the most difficult.)

"If you are looking for the right price,
I'll make you settle for my charm.
For I shall have you come back more than twice,
At a rate that might cause alarm.

If I should fail,
I'll shriek and flail,
Make promises I won't keep,
And attempt to slaughter you like sheep.

In the end, it was my voice you followed,
So cool and soothing to the end,
Being run through a weapon borrowed,
I can no longer pretend.

What am I?"

Puzzle Options

1) Give a straight answer.
2) Use your only clue.
3) Ask Walafeas for help. (Inactive - You do not have Walafeas as a familiar.)
4) Ask Exmortalis for help. (Warning: You can only use this once.)
5) Seek out a second opinion. (You can only use this three times. You may ask the forum what they believe the answer to be.)

HARD

Wait at the Broken Mirror

Approaching it seemed like more of a chore than it was. The path was lined with a metallic, slippery flooring that also happened to be mirrored. As the person reached the singular broken mirror, they stroked it, feeling the empty space at the centre. It lit up, throwing forth a strange projection of a mirrored humanoid creature.

MAN'S GREATEST FOLLY - Level 1 Riddle (As opposed to level 2-5. 5 being the most difficult.)

Death cannot be feared if man cannot be tamed.
But place him in the stocks for a day and watch him be shamed.
Death approaches faster, when man is weak.
But man holds it at bay when honour is not so meek.

Can you guess what drives man to an early grave?
It stands in the mirror, it holds man as a slave.
It has a name, and this thing has been branded a sin.
It is what does not allow them to look weak, even when they cannot win.

I encourage you to guess, take one shot in the dark!
For when man is taken hold of, it leaves a certain mark.
Obsessed with appearance, obsessed with winning it all,
But in the end, it is true, man will surely fall.

What is it?

Puzzle Options

1) Give a straight answer.
2) Use your only vague clue.
3) Ask Walafeas for help. (Inactive. You do not have this familiar.)
4) Ask Exmortalis for help. (Warning: Can only be used once throughout the whole game.)
5) Ask for a second opinion. (This can only be done once. You may ask the forum for assistance.)

Find an ending in the Long Path.

It seemed impossible. The hunter kept walking and walking, but no matter how far they walked, there appeared to be no end to the mirrors. They considered alternative options, and decided to walk back. The second they turned around, they were right back at the start again.

What do you do?

1) Go to the shorter path and assist with the riddle.
2) Try to find cracks.
3) Strike the broken mirror.

Find Differences in Texture

Stroking the mirrors as they went along, the person suddenly found a slight difference in one mirror. One that appeared to be coated in a small layer of grime. They could chip into the crack they found and see if there was anything under it, or they could break it altogether.

What do you do?

1) Find someone to assist before digging into the crack.
2) Dig into the crack.
3) Break the mirror.
4) Go and assist the person doing the riddle.

IMPOSSIBLE

The Shack

Inside the shack was a breeding ground for all kinds of strange insects the group had never seen before. They felt uneasy inside the shack, especially because, even with the smell of the swamp, there was an even more pungent odour that flooded the room. It seemed to be coming from a large mound of dirt with a peculiarly large lump in it. The lump seemed to shiver every minute or so as the rain beat down on the shack.

What do you do?

1) Leave the shack and find another way.
2) Dig into the dirt.
3) Use your weapons on the dirt.
4) Look around the shack for anything of use.

Before I start, I'd like to stress how important it is that you don't just post your stats here if you're looking to join the game. Please, please message me indicating you'd like to join, and I'll send you the required info.

For the following, please go by what your actual difficulty is.

The various groups are all too suddenly thrown out of their current elements, off of the bridge, sucked into the drawings, collapsing around Exmortalis. When they awaken, they find themselves in a whole new area. Some different than others.

The Replicant - EASY

A dilapidated, aged vault sits before the group. The door hangs off of it's hinges. The inside is dark, and the pungent odour of blood poisons the air with its foul presence. Entering it, the group finds that there appears to be a small candlelit area in a hole in the floor. Upon closer inspection, the group sees a single man staring at a candle, and something that appears to be in his hand.
The group almost feels as though this is deja vu. Had they been here before? Perhaps.

What do you do?

1) Drop down to the man and approach.
2) Drop down to the man and attack.
3) Ignore the man and try to find another path.

The Burlesque House - MEDIUM

Harlots for hire. Some of the group think that way. Some might be more inching towards taking advantage while they're here. How many times might they get such a chance in future? The more level-headed tell the straying to keep going, even with the temptation growing greater. But that was the strange part. As they went further, they found themselves more interested in the men and women around them. As though temptation itself was their biggest enemy here. They could see a door leading into a room that appeared to be clearly marked as the "Manager's Office". There also appeared to be that same man from the drawing room, the same drunkard who appeared to be barely capable of lifting a finger before. He was sat at a table, beer bottle in hand. He looked better.

What do you do?

1) Enter the manager's office.
2) Explore the burlesque house.
3) Attempt to hire the services of a worker.
4) Approach the drunkard.

The House of Mirrors - HARD

A singular cube suspended in the air, static and unmoving. It was composed entirely of mirrored glass, and seemed to be stuck there. The group stared at it, as though they were attracted to its unique presence. It was only upon inspection they realised that the room around them was also coated in mirrors. Not a door in sight. As the group wandered altogether, they came to a crossroads and a sign that read;
"Wait for me at the end, I'll be there."
One path looked to be longer than the other, and had seemingly no end. The various mirrors causing some of the group to get a headache. The other path had a single shattered mirror at the end of it. It was smaller, but there appeared to be various discrepancies in some of the mirrors the further they went down that path. They could swear they saw figures moving.

What do you do?

1) Go down the Shattered path and wait at the broken mirror.
2) Go down the Shattered path and strike the broken mirror.
3) Go down the Long path and try to find an ending.
4) Go down the Long path and feel for differences in texture (cracks, scratches, etc.).

The Broken Shelter - IMPOSSIBLE

There sat a shack in the middle of a repulsive, dank swamp that seemed to go on for miles. The shack was the only reprieve the group might find from the pouring rain. It was then that it happened. Certain parts of the water appeared to quickly turn into huge whirlpools that sucked anything and everything near in.
The choice was apparent; go in the shack and explore, or walk around the swamp and see if the group can't find anything that might help them.

What do you do?

1) Go into the shack.
2) Explore the swamp.

Y'all good, it happens. :)

Quick update, just about two things;

1) We are now full. With Stork's entry, that's 25 people. So anyone else will have to send me a message if they wish to join. I'll edit the front page's post to let that be known.

2) About alignments; someone asked me if they HAD to join up with Sehkult or Ex. To be honest, in my last game, I did have the option for people to go independent. I may be able to integrate an independence addition to this, if enough people are interested. :)

Don't worry, I'm keeping track. The first couple of introductory posts are merely intended to represent where you're at and what you're going to be doing. Then from there, I'll post an update on people's statuses.

(Here's how it's gonna work, guys. I'll put everyone into groups dependent upon their difficulty after this one. If they chose the Tyriden, then I'll also add in an extra section at the end of every difficulty's choice that shows how the Tyriden affected the path they took.

?The results of your decisions will be noted throughout, but if anyone dies or becomes trapped, or some other really bad stuff, you'll notice a red tint to the text. If something really good happens, like finding a great item, or defeating a powerful enemy, then you'll find the text has a green tint to it. Simple.

NOTE: Yes, you WILL be rewarded for certain sections. I'm sure a few of you are probably wondering what the incentives to playing are. There you have it, you'll win prizes and money and such. Any other questions, lemme know.

Without further ado!)

Exploring The Foyer

Exploring the foyer, the group found themselves looking at a door just under the staircase. It had markings that depicted that of a mighty black dragon looming over an equally black phoenix. The group decided to go through, after all, what was the worst that could happen? They pushed on the door, but it would not budge. Instead, with their combined force, it seemed that the only part of the door that was moving was the engraved depiction of the dragon and the phoenix, the stone moving into the staircase far enough that it lit up when pushed far enough, the dragon's depiction breathing fire at the phoenix and the phoenix returning the favour until the depictions shone too brightly to look at.

What the group was left with after the brightness faded was the door gone, and instead, a man stood in front of them all. A tall, dark-haired gentleman with a fair complexion, eyes as green as emeralds, his body stood in a perfectly confident position. He loomed over the group.

"Where the phoenix shall hunt, so too shall the dragon stalk its mortal enemy." The man spoke softly, he walked past the group as they stared at what was now a blank, common space under the staircase. He stood dead-centre, looking at his surroundings.

"I am Exmortalis Dedical, you are assisting Sehkult, I understand. Perhaps you may reconsider your loyalties." He said, turning to face the group.

"The fool wishes to release a being of power beyond recognition. A being placed within the only prison that is capable of holding him. I ask that you join my cause in thwarting these efforts."

The group glanced at one another and then at Exmortalis. They couldn't quite understand who was in the wrong, here. Perhaps Simund was good. In some of the group's minds, they believed it might be prudent for the world to burn. Perhaps Simund would provide that upon his release. But you were left with a choice...

Who do you side with?

1) Exmortalis Dedical - The high administrator of Purgeum, the capital realm of Corporeus. Exmortalis is a defender of the innocent and has sought only the protection and well-being of those within his power of protecting. He consistently works towards assisting and helping others, and is highly self-sacrificial. Exmortalis has used nearly all of his power to gain access to Simund's pocket dimension to speak with you - But will you listen? (This choice means you are working towards saving Corporeus from a plot that would otherwise destroy the nexus of realms. This is the GOOD choice. You will no longer receive help from Sehkult, and instead, receive it from Exmortalis.

Perks

- You're working towards the greater good, Benevolence's effects are doubled.
- In combat, you have a 20% chance of summoning the black dragon to assist you.
- You have one opportunity to use Exmortalis' incredible wisdom and intelligence to assist with puzzles.
- NPC's working towards the greater good or on the side of good will warm up to you faster, and offer better incentives for helping them.
- You receive two unique spells to use once;
Administrative Influence - You can calm an NPC who has turned hostile.
Dragon's Flight - You can escape from a battle.
- You receive the good counterparts to your current weapons;
Sword - You are given a shield to have a 40% chance of blocking an enemy's strike. (Will not work on enemies stronger than yourself.)
Gun - You are given a clip of holy bullets, which can be used to do double damage on your enemy. (Will not work on enemies weaker than yourself.)
Quill - You are given a journal, every three turns, write a passage about your current desire. It can be about a desire for wealth, or additional power, or an extra chance. (This is not to be abused. If you ask for wealth, the most you'll receive is 10k every time. Additional power gives you a choice of either a 0.5% increase in strength, or an extra 10% chance at avoiding enemies. An extra chance is a ONE TIME OFFER, you can only ask for it once.)
A Single Spell - A Spell-Book. You are given two extra spells, and can now store spells in the book for later use. (You can only use saved spells every three turns, and you cannot save Exmortalis' special spells.)

Problems:

- The primary concern is you're working against Sehkult. Evil NPC's will immediately go hostile.
- Malice's effects are also doubled.
- The Tyriden will make life even harder for you, the difficulty increases to the point where the only way to get rid of it is to kill it. (This only applies to those with the Tyriden as their familiar, for those on Impossible, you may consider yourselves screwed.)

2) Sehkult Eretao - The CEO and driving force behind several Corporean companies, Sehkult is a businessman and an entrepreneur. He is also cold, calculating, and extremely manipulative. He doesn't care who's in his way, he will attempt to eliminate them. And sure enough, most times he does. Sehkult has hired you to take care of the seal halting Simund from leaving his pocket dimension - But will you do as he has instructed? (This choice means you are working to release the being that will inevitably release something even more dangerous and whom will likely cause the end of the universe. This is the BAD choice.

Perks

-
You're working towards your own profit and gain, and for the ultimate evil; Malice's effects are doubled.
- In combat, you'll have a 20% chance of summoning the black phoenix to assist you.
- You have one opportunity to use Sehkult's immense knowledge to assist with puzzles.
- NPC's working toward the greater evil will warm up to you faster, and will offer you better incentives for completing their tasks.
- You receive two spells to use once;
It's Just Business - Instantly kill an NPC that has turned hostile. (Can not be used on particular NPC's)
Phoenix Ashes - Raise from the dead with a single chance and low health.
- You receive the bad counterparts to your current weapons;
Sword - You receive a dagger which has a 15% chance of allowing you to sneak kill an enemy. (Will not work on bosses.)
Gun - You receive 'one in the chamber', a special bullet designed to cause excruciating pain beyond imagination; you can use this for better loot drops.
Quill - You receive a single note which you may write to Sehkult. The note will then be sent back next turn completely blank, but coated in buffs.
A Single Spell - You receive a grimoire, which will give you a new spell every three turns, in exchange for 0.1 Strength.
- The Tyriden will appreciate your loyalty, and will occasionally leave for a couple of turns so as to not interfere with the difficulty of your task.

Problems

- Most NPC's won't find your presence very comfortable, and none will trust you, no matter their alignment.
- Benevolence's effects are also doubled.
- Exmortalis may occasionally attempt to interfere.

(This also introduces a PvP aspect to the game, wherein, if two players of opposing alignments meet, they have the opportunity to attack one another. Of course, only those of Easy difficulty will face off against other Easy difficulty players, and so on. Yes, this also means that people with Pestilence or the Tyriden are involved in this, so best be careful.)

Ascending the Staircase

The group ascends the staircase, feeling an uneasy sensation within their stomach, a tightness. They find a singular path ahead of them in the next room. A well-lit grated floor that appears quite thin, where the rest of the room is entirely pitch black. The grated path leads all the way to the end the room, to another, smaller staircase. The group finds themselves slightly worried by the darkness, but decide to make their way along the path. As they go along, they are alerted to the voice of someone speaking to them, someone with a familiar tone.

"The darkness within this room shall consume the entirety of the universe if the phoenix is not stopped." They spoke softly, but there was that same uneasiness. It felt like they were whispering right into the group's ears.

"You must choose a side... the dragon, or the phoenix." The voice continued, as two shadowy figures appeared emit a certain light, as they roamed underneath the path and then above it, a shadowy composition that depicted a phoenix and a dragon.

When they realised that the room was blocking them from going any further until they answered, the group considered their options.

Who do you side with?

1) Exmortalis Dedical - See the Foyer explanation.

2) Sehkult Eretao - See the Foyer explanation.

Using the Knocker on the Door

"Y'know, when I think of all the things that coulda happened to me, being hungover in Simund's dimension is not the worst thing that coulda happened." The group heard a voice behind the door, a person dragging their feet within the room opened the door haphazardly.

"Get your ass in here." Was all the scraggy-looking gentleman had to say as he turned again, wearing sunglasses indoors, likely to keep all trace of light out of his hungover line-of-sight. The room he was in looked as though it was a living room of sorts, with a large table and two couches organised neatly around it. The man seemed to almost deliberately fall over onto the smaller couch, pointing repeatedly to the other couch, his face buried in the one he was on. It looked uncomfortable.

When the group sat, he stopped pointing and started throwing his hand about on the floor to try and grab a few pieces of paper he had left there. He placed them on the table and slid them over to the group, all with his face still buried in the couch.

"F'n ff m aa." He spoke into the seat, his mouth clearly muffled.

"Uhhh..." One group member was about to speak before the man interrupted.

"F'in' fill 'em in." He said, because clearly, you weren't getting it the first time I said, ya bunch a'- Wait, I'm the narrator here. The power of the fourth wall compels you.

The papers had uncoloured pictures of dragons and phoenixes on them. He rolled over some colouring pencils. They noticed that they appeared to draw them in. As though, if they chose one, they could not draw on the
other.

Whose side are you on? C'mon, man. I ain't got all day. Got a pack of oreos just waiting for me. (NEED I REMIND YOU I'M THE NARRATOR HERE)

1) Exmortalis Dedical - What the other guy said. Read the foyer thing. (I give up.)

2) Exmortalis Dedi - (You realise there is more than one option, here.) Ugh, fine. Sehkult Eretao - What the other guy said. Read the foyer thing.

Go ahead, Whittlinman. Think we got about 19 people so far. Not entirely sure, though. If 19, then I'll set the limit at about 25.

((WARNING: THIS GAME WILL BE FRIGGIN' COMPLICATED, SO PLEASE KEEP THAT IN MIND IF YOU WANT TO STAY OR GO, THIS IS GONNA BE A LONG-ASS POST))

Now that you have signed the document, I shall inform you of your purpose, here. I imagine most of you noticed the disappearing door once you arrived. This was strictly to keep the undesirables out. This is a highly confidential, clandestine operation. We cannot risk exposure.

Sehkult gets up from the desk, it seemingly vanishing the second he tucked his chair in. He turned towards the much larger door that had been behind him. The door was a bulky wooden barrier, sealed with a large white triangle composed entirely of energy, dead centre of the door. Sehkult approached, the triangle seemed to respond to his touch, as when a couple of his fingers delicately pressed against the door, a few lines of energy formed from each corner of the triangle, tangling into a peculiar pattern that looked like a dying apple tree with a singular rotted apple highlighted especially.

I should inform you, once you step beyond the threshold of this barrier, you will be unable to leave. Are you ready?

Looks of concern from a couple members of the group displayed their reluctance, though, they took in a breath and approached. Some more eager than others. As Sehkult tapped the apple, the door made a loud whooshing sound, then a crash as though glass had been shattered, the door shattering into nothingness. None of the group could see beyond the threshold; though Sehkult appeared fully aware of what lay ahead, as a sinister smile marked his expression.

You are contractors, some of you mercenaries. I have called you all here, as you are the best your realm has to offer, and Corporean beings cannot enter Master Simund's pocket dimension, myself being the obvious exception. I imagine you are confused as to what you must do.

Free Master Simund from this prison. It will not be an easy task, some of you may fall. Some of you may be trapped. Some of you may choose to remain in certain parts of this dimension. Make no mistake, the Master has done well to ensure it is protected against the attempts of certain interests; but this also makes your task noticeably more tedious.

You will be supplied with the weapons you have assigned yourselves. Some of you have been cursed, this may make your task more difficult, or simpler. You will be given a familiar whistle, to those who requested a familiar's assistance. Let it be known that the Tyriden is Master Simund's familiar, as such, it is less inclined to assist and more inclined to make your journey more difficult.

Pay no mind to the Elder's request; as I am most certain it will in no way assist you.

Here is what you are to expect;

MONSTERS

As an added precaution, Master Simund may have added certain undesirables that may be interested in claiming your corpse as a feast.

When encountering a monster, you have a chance of completely avoiding it dependent upon the choices you made on the application and certain future factors. The difficulty, curses and familiars you chose initially sets your life-points and a couple of other stats to the following;

Easy
150 Life-Points
100 Strength (Your base attack will be 10 life points per hit, and you have a 10% chance of beating every enemy instantly. All enemies do very little damage.)
Chance of avoiding enemy encounter - 50%
Loot Drop/Find - Weak

FAMILIAR INFLUENCE:

The Tyriden - The Tyriden's influence will also mean that very particular monsters will have a 10% chance of instantly killing you.
Yig'Torin - Yig'Torin will instantly kill an enemy.

BLOOD CURSE INFLUENCE:

Pestilence - Your life will be drained to 50 points and your strength goes down to 10.
Benevolence - With Benevolence, 20 life-points will be gained with every good choice, plus you gain 5 strength. 15 will be lost with every bad choice, plus you lose 3 strength.
Malice - Vice versa to the above.
Deranged - Deranged gives you a 50% boost in base attack.

Medium
100 Life-Points
75 Strength (Your base attack will be 7.5 life points per hit, you have a 1% chance of killing the enemy instantly. All enemies do some damage.)
Chance of avoiding enemy encounter - 30%
Loot Drop/Find - Decent

FAMILIAR INFLUENCE:

The Tyriden - The Tyriden's influence will also mean that some monsters will have a 20% chance of instantly killing you.
Yig'Torin - Yig'Torin will reduce an enemy's health by 75%.

BLOOD CURSE INFLUENCE:

Pestilence - With the Pestilence curse, your life will be drained to 30 points and your strength goes down to 7.5.
Benevolence - With Benevolence, 10 life points will be gained from making good choices, plus you'll gain 4 strength. You'll lose the exact same amount if you make a bad choice.
Malice - Vice versa to the above.
Deranged - With Deranged, you'll receive a 25% base attack increase.

Hard
75 Life-Points
50 Strength (Your base attack will be 5 life points per hit. All enemies do big damage.)
Chance of avoiding enemy encounter - 20%
Loot Drop/Find - Strong

FAMILIAR INFLUENCE:

The Tyriden - The Tyriden's influence will also mean that most monsters have a 25% of instantly killing you.
Yig'Torin - Yig'Torin will reduce the enemy's health by 50%.

BLOOD CURSE INFLUENCE:

Pestilence - Your life will be drained to 20 points and your strength goes down to 5.
Benevolence - 5 life points will be gained from making good choices, plus you'll gain 3 strength. You'll lose the same amount if you make a bad choice.
Malice - Vice versa to the above.
Deranged - You'll receive a 15% base attack increase.

Impossible
50 Life-Points
25 Strength (Your base attack will be 2.5 life points per hit. All enemies do massive damage; you will be insta-killed if you have Pestilence on.)
Chance of avoiding enemy encounter - 5%
Loot Drop/Find - A King's Ransom

FAMILIAR INFLUENCE:
The Tyriden - The Tyriden's influence will mean that all monsters have a 50% chance of instantly killing you.
Yig'Torin - Will take an enemy's health down by 25%.

BLOOD CURSE INFLUENCE:

Pestilence - Your life will be drained to 5 points and your strength goes down to 1.
Benevolence - 3 life points will be gained from making good choices, but you won't gain any strength. You will, however, lose 5 life points and lose 2 strength if you make a bad choice.
Malice - Vice versa to the above.
Deranged - You'll receive a 5% base attack increase, but you have a 10% chance of missing your enemy completely.

PUZZLES/QUESTIONS

Master Simund is quite fond of puzzles. There will no doubt be a few obstacles in your path that may be a by-product of Master Simund's incredible imagination.

Puzzles form a more core part of this game than monsters do, and in some regard, can be considered more dangerous. Difficulty affects how they turn out, plus curses and familiars. The vast majority of puzzles will be optional, but some MUST be passed to continue. I will warn you if they are as such.

Easy:
Puzzles are little more than questions.
You cannot die from failing them.
You have three chances.
You are given two clues.
Loot Drop/Find - Weak
Additional chances on a mandatory puzzle - If failed, they trap you for only a couple of turns.

FAMILIAR INFLUENCE:
Walafeas - You are given two extra chances in the instance you use him, plus, you are given given one extra clue, and Walafeas will even hint towards the correct answer.
Yig'Torin - One chance is taken.

BLOOD CURSE INFLUENCE:
Pestilence - Gives you a fourth chance, and a 50% chance of having the right answer highlighted.
Deranged - Reduces chances to two.

If you chose the quill you can make a drawing which has a 50% chance of allowing you to bypass the question.

Medium:
Puzzles are present, but are sparing.
You have a 5% chance of dying from failure of a puzzle.
You have two chances.
You are given one clue.
Loot Drop/Find - Decent
You will be trapped for a couple of turns if you fail a mandatory puzzle.

FAMILIAR INFLUENCE:
Walafeas - You are given one extra chance and one extra clue.
The Tyriden - One chance is taken, and the chance of dying from the puzzle raises to 10%.

BLOOD CURSE INFLUENCE:
Pestilence - Gives you a third chance, and 25% chance of having the right answer highlighted.
Deranged - Reduces your chances to one.

If you chose the quill, you have a 25% chance of making a drawing that will let you bypass the puzzle.

Hard:
Puzzles are present, and frequent.
You have a 15% chance of dying from a puzzle.
You have one chance per puzzle.
You have a vague clue.
Loot Drop/Find - Strong
You will be trapped until another player comes and releases you if failing a mandatory puzzle.

FAMILIAR INFLUENCE:
Walafeas - You are given the choice between an extra clue, or an extra chance.
The Tyriden - You will receive no clue, and your risk of dying from a puzzle is raised to 25%.

BLOOD CURSE INFLUENCE:
Pestilence - Gives you a second chance, and you have a 10% chance of having the right answer highlighted.
Deranged - Removes your clue, and you have a 5% chance of automatically choosing the wrong answer.

The quill has a 10% chance of allowing you to bypass the puzzle with a drawing.

Impossible:
Puzzles are frequent, and punishing.
You have a 35% chance of dying from a puzzle.
You have one chance.
You have no clues.
Loot Drop/Find - A King's Ransom
You will be trapped and you will be kicked out of the game if you fail a mandatory puzzle.

FAMILIAR INFLUENCE:
Walafeas - You receive a clue, but Walafeas has a 50% chance of giving you misleading advice about the right answer.
The Tyriden - Your risk of dying from the puzzle shoots up to 50%, and worse yet, the Tyriden itself will mess with the puzzle, and has a 25% chance of scrambling the answers.

BLOOD CURSE INFLUENCE:
Pestilence - Gives you a second chance.
Deranged - You have a 25% chance of automatically picking the wrong answer.

The quill is useless in this
difficulty.

NPC's

You may find yourself at the beck and call of certain individuals within the dimension. These individuals may or may not be under Master Simund's employ. I advise you take caution.

NPC's aren't like monsters or puzzles. They can offer tasks, or cause trouble, or even offer benefits. Only Impossible has an effect on NPC's, but there are certain things which may affect their behaviour.

BLOOD CURSE INFLUENCE:

Pestilence - Certain NPC's may be more sympathetic and offer assistance.

Deranged - Certain NPC's have a chance of becoming enemies.
Benevolence - Certain NPC's will have their task bypassed by this, and may even assist in certain battles. They may also go hostile and offer a harder task.
Malice - Ditto to the above.

FAMILIAR INFLUENCE:

The Tyriden - Will unsettle certain NPC's, and potentially murder others. (This does not happen in Easy.)

IMPOSSIBLE INFLUENCE:

Almost all NPC's will offer extremely hard tasks, and some may go hostile immediately after you succeed. Some may hinder you in future battles. NONE of the positive blood curse effects work on them.

Unique Items

I am certain you are curious about your compensation. You will be rewarded with both a sum after the release of Master Simund, and some rare antique commodities that Master Simund may have created in his spare time. I imagine one might find their effects... interesting.

During your journey, you may find various items, some rarer than others. All of these items can be traded to me for a monetary sum. Any Unique Items will be especially valuable.
This is a rare instance where having Impossible as the difficulty works in your favour. If you're playing on Impossible, you will find unique items that are significantly more valuable than those on other difficulties. The Tyriden may also assist in finding unique items, and may improve your odds of finding them in the first place.

I should think you are all quite eager to get started. Some may be nervous. Please, do not allow these emotions to get in the way of your journey.

Finally, should any of you think about attempting to keep Simund sealed... well, we have measures in place for such things.

If you will kindly all excuse me, I shall allow you to begin your journey. Fear not, I shall stay in contact.

Sehkult walks into the darkness of what lies beyond the threshold, and then, a light.
Light floods the room, but Sehkult is nowhere to be seen. The room appears as though it were a lavish foyer, with a large, marble staircase leading upwards towards another section of whatever the building was. There was a single chandelier dangling from the ceiling, and a large seal of a similar design to the initial one the group saw Sehkult touching earlier on the floor. There appear to be a few doors leading into other rooms, but upon closer inspection, they have no knobs or handles on them, save one of the doors that appears to have a large knocker on it.

What do you do?

1) Explore the foyer.
2) Ascend the staircase.
3) Use the knocker on the door.

This is the only instance where you will all be able to make a decision together. You will then be sorted into groups, easy, medium, hard and impossible. I know it all seems a bit much to take in, but trust me, you'll get it.
?Enjoy the game, guys!
