What TornLife has verified
- A player's referral link is simply their own user ID appended after www.torn.com/ (e.g. http://www.torn.com/123456789); no separate generation step or button is needed beyond navigating to the referral page to view/copy it. - The referral link is accessed via the "special" section of the sidebar in Torn; clicking through to that page also displays all rewards available for referring friends. (documented; FAQ › FAQ › Other › What is my referral link? / I can't find the Question and/o…, )
- Referrals are intended only for players who actually introduce a new player to Torn; staff have stated that adding a referral where the referrer did not genuinely introduce the person defeats the purpose of the system. (confirmed by Torn; Refferal, )
- If a new player forgets to enter the referral code/link at signup, the referrer can report it in the Bugs & Issues forum board and staff may manually add the referral after confirmation; multiple 2021-2026 reports show staff responding "This has been added" or "I have added this". (confirmed by Torn; Player referral, missed the referral box, )
