What are honor bars in Torn and how do you earn them?

Honor bars are awards shown on a player's profile, earned by completing challenges tied to almost every part of Torn. Examples include Forgery level 100, Church donations, Halloween basket levels and Elimination attacks. A set of default honors needs no earning.

What they are

TornLife's research from the wiki (February 2026 capture) describes an award as a completed challenge that rewards an honor bar or a medal, plus a merit. Default honors, such as country flags and the Standard Bar, are available to everyone. The wiki counts 347 earnable honor bars. Some are no longer obtainable and show in red as legacy. The page warns it may be out of date because awards are being reworked with Crimes 2.0.

The sidebar Awards page lists all honor bars and medals and lets a player check progress, per the wiki's new-player mission (2020 capture, from TornLife's findings).

How they are earned

• Chain: Chainer 1 to 5 for taking part in chains of 10 up to 100,000; Chain Saver; Strongest Link (100 hits in one chain); Carnage, Massacre and Genocide for single hits earning 10, 100 and 1,000 respect.
• Combat: 100 finishing hits with a weapon category, plus Specialist and War Machine.
• Crimes: Forgery has an honor bar for level 100 in that crime^[1]. Graffiti and Scamming have several, and crime honors differ between Crimes 1.0 and 2.0.
• Church: Pious ($100,000 donated in total) and Saintly ($1,000,000)^[2]. Devout ($100,000,000) appears on the 2020 wiki capture^[3]. Findings also list Sacrificial ($1,000,000,000).
• Missions, marriage and gym: Mercenary (1,000 contracts), days-married honors such as Fascination (250 days), and Bronze, Silver and Gold Belt for owning gym memberships.
• Miscellaneous: 250 refills of a kind, personal perk counts, total awards held (Decorated, Honored), and login honors for holidays.
• Events: three Halloween basket honor bars, each from reaching a particular basket level^[4]. Terrifying gives Something Humerus^[5]; Nightmarish gives Oh My Gourd!^[6].
• Elimination 2025: Purple Heart needs 50 attacks against enemy team members^[7]. Findings also list Mission Accomplished (team 1st-3rd), Domination (team 1st) and Supremacy (top 5% of attacks).
• Other: Display Case, and The Socialist from Torn Lite. Some honors can also be bought with competition tokens or points.

Merits

Merits are generally given alongside medals and honors, and can also be bought at the points building or reset. Resetting merits earns the Fresh Start honor bar. One beginner-guide post in 2026 called awards and honors among the easiest ways for new players to earn merits; that is an opinion^[8].
