What is the best job for a low-level player to take?

No source documents one best job. The practical path in the guides is a starter city job (Army, Grocer or Casino) on day one, then a player company at level 3 for faster work stat gains.[1][2][3]

Army, Grocer and Casino can be joined on the first day. Education, Medical and Law are advanced city jobs and need work stats first.[1][4]

Starter city jobs

  • The 2025 wiki findings say Grocer Bag Boy and Casino Dealer both need 2 Manual, 2 Intelligence and 2 Endurance, and both give 1 job point a day. Bag Boy pays $150 and Dealer pays $250. Casino pays more at every rank, but its higher ranks need much more Endurance.
  • The same findings say a first-time starter job begins with 5 job points, promotion needs 5 points, and passive specials stay after leaving. Entry needs an interview of three correct answers, and a failed interview means waiting until the next day.
  • Grocer specials: cash for 1 point, Candy for 2, Alcohol for 5, and an Energy Drink for 25 points at Manager rank. Casino specials: money for 1 point, 25 Casino Tokens for 1 point, and money at President for 10 points.
  • Job points are spent on Job Specials, which are not passive. In a 2015 staff post, they stay stored for the old job if you return and do not transfer to another job.[5]

A 2019 forum guide says city jobs cannot be fired from.[4] The 2025 wiki findings say a player is fired from a starter job after 400 days of inactivity, so the newer wiki finding should be preferred.

Advanced city jobs

Education has three specials: +100 Manual, +100 Intelligence or +100 Endurance, each per 10 Job Points.[6] Its entry rank, Recess Supervisor, needs 500 Intelligence (0/500/0), per the 2025 wiki findings. Medical specials steal a SFAK for two Medical Points at Houseman rank or a FAK for four at Senior Houseman.[7][8]

Player-reported comparisons

A 2025 player pocket guide lists days to fast-track each city job: Grocer 16, Casino 21, Law 21, Education 26, Medical 26, Army 41. A 2020 post lists top-position benefits: Army a spy report a day, Education the best stat gains, Grocer an energy drink every 5 days, Law a jail release every 2.5 days, and Casino money. Both are player-reported, not wiki.

Company jobs

  • A 2017 wiki page says a player must be level 3 to join a company.[2]
  • Tesla's 2015 guide says companies give much larger daily work stat gains than city careers. It also says the starter choice matters little because you move at level 3.
  • A 2026 quick start guide says company trains are the fastest way to grow MAN, INT and END.[3]
  • A 2020 Day 0 guide says sweet shops are the best bet and that you probably will not be paid.[9]
  • A 2017 wiki guide says a new player wanting quick money can offer to work for $10,000 pay and not ask for more.[10]
  • New employees are restricted from specials for 72 hours. Energy specials cap at 100 job points a day.[11]
  • A 2019 first-week guide says to join the army until level 4, then a 3-star AN or 7-star sweet shop.

The starter-job facts come from 2025 wiki findings. The recommendations are opinion from guides dated 2015 to 2026.

Where sources disagree

  • Tesla (2015) prefers Casino or Grocer over Army for pay, while a 2019 guide says join the army and skip Grocer and Casino. Both say to move to a company at level 3. The pack's documents do not include either guide.[2]
  • A 2019 forum guide says city jobs cannot be fired from; 2025 wiki findings say starter jobs fire you after 400 days of inactivity.[4]
