Lel, come on to Torn and see this. Have to scroll down for a mile to get to the end. Might be good for mobile users but makes desktop browsing horrid.
CPU shoots up to 66% when idling on the main screen, really those moving clouds consume 3ghz+ worth of CPU cycles. Time spent hasn't bore fruit, 0/10 update.

That's on a computer? My page doesn't look like that. Is it your resolution or what?

This happens both on mobile and desktop: the problem is related to the responsive breakpoints Torn is using. You can check it out on a desktop if you resize the window.
When you have a screen wider than 1000px, you'll get a 976px-wide page, which yields a good reading length. As soon as you hit 1000px or less, you get a 578px-wide page with empty spaces around. While at 1000px+ this is to prevent the page from becoming too wide, at this resolution it just looks like wasted space. Resize it further and when you hit 600px you'll get the worst layout of them: a 320px-wide page with 280 wasted horizontal pixels. Try using that on a 600px phone... Precious wasted space.

Yeah. One good thing is that Ched has announced someone is working on a new design for mobile. Fingers crossed they'll make better use of the inventory as well as improve user experience.
moving clouds when you fly but your "private jet" still looks like something people learn to fly in.Small issue i know but with all the visual updates i hoped for something that looked the business for the money it costs
Maybe I'm misunderstand this thread but, are you saying your computer struggles to display moving clouds in a text-based game? You should definitely consider upgrading something inside that old dusty box of yours, or just build a new one from scratch.

That's a really bad assumption. It's not so muchstruggling to displayas it'swasting processing power. Using lots of processing power doesn't mean it's running slowly.
The animations run perfectly here, butthey are real power hogs. It should be a pretty simple and light effect. Instead, the way they are implemented is wasteful and not really optimized for most browsers.

Oh it's not even a mobile issue, but also stuff i don't understand. lol.

Oh ok, I understand what you're saying. Just took a test flight to Mexico, and there is no difference in CPU usage while watching the clouds float by. I suppose Chrome is not affected by this?

It depends on your hardware and OS as well. My OS X is heavily affected using Chrome, while my Windows isn't.
For me it says this page as before my post is 1663 x 5945, I use a 1680x1050 screen resolution. The width of the post delimiter for me is 784. I've got about 4 inches of wasted space on each side. All the photos Ched released before the update made it look like there was about 1/2 space on each side. Can only think this is for future ads running on each side. Extremely disappointed in the layout constraints.
so i guess its good that i broke my phone from the complaints of mobile, I'm to lazy to buy a new one lately but fortunately theirs wifi everywhere where I live so I just carry my laptop
