You would need to open 400 of them in order to get the sample size error down to +-5%. No conclusion can be drawn after opening 8 of them.

It should still be 50-50, almost nothing changed game wise at this point, it's mostly the visibility.
Although you sample pool of 8 units is quite small to be able to make any conclusions i'm afraid.
I'm more inclined to say you've just been unlucky. Next few times you might get lucky and get more xanax then vics out of the packs. But then again it's random and stays random.
I don't think it works person to person, I'm 99% sure it works as a whole. So you may not open 5 Xanax and 5 Vic. But if someone is lucky enough to get 5 Xanax, it might back lash in the game and make you get 5 Vic so the items are kept balanced in the game as a whole. That's my personal opinion anyway.

opened 4, 3 xanax 1 vico :D
I opened 5. Got 3 vic n 2 xanax. Its just random. U get what u get.

I've been thinking this as well.

I've opened a lot of drug packs and it seems pretty much dead on 50/50 to me.

If it's truly random then previous odds will not affect subsequent odds (Gamblers Fallacy)
With a sufficiently large sample size this would be testable to a degree (no pattern) though this still wouldn't remove doubt for other options at the macro scale (e.g. all results predetermined from a single list, populated and randomized at the start of the day)
Writing additional code to bias results would seem very wasteful though. Why expend development time and cpu cycles on something which achieves the same net result as rand() ?
