Torn Jail is very unrealistic at the moment, there is never more than 10 people in at a time and for some reason the guards at the jail are terrible at stopping busts even with only 1 person to watch. My Suggestion is we add a number of NPC's into jail boosting the number of people in at any given time, but along with this we scale how hard it is to bust based on the number of people in jail at any given time.
If only 20 people are in then busting is much harder but if jail is full of 100 or more people it is much easier to get someone out.
Another benefit of this is the increase in punishment for going to jail, currently it's a 30 second inconvenience. With more people in then you may actually have to wait a while or call on friends to bust you out making this aspect much more social too.
The downsides of this would be people buying out instead of busting so the costs for this may need to be increased or a limit on how many people a person can bail per day. The other consideration is with the number of people busting it may just make it too easy, however if the difficulty scales well with the number in jail as well as the current system which stops you doing too many consecutive busts.
I don't care for any of you busters I'll be honest. All they need is an option to not allow people to bust you and people that try get caught for it, jail will fill right up.
It should naturally work like that, when Jail is busy it will encourage more people to bust due to it being easier at those times. People in for lower times will be busted quicker then the people in for longer will have to wait for someone with more crime xp. If the Jail is nearly empty even with less busters it shouldn't be long.
But the other benefit of this is it encourages the social part of the game, if you have a faction or a large friend base in the game you have people who you can ask to bust you. if you are playing virtually solo then you will have to wait longer. It makes it more realistic, in real life why would somebody you don't know try to bust you out of jail. But if you have lots of friends there would be lots of people willing to help you.
edit The ratio of difficulty to people in jail could be tweaked to fix the timings to a suitable amount, also the number of NPC's in jail could be increased or decreased to alter timings too
It's a reasonably well thought out concept, but...
... to be perfectly frank I don't think measures like these will change anything regarding bust target availability overall - if it's a bit harder to bust and players will theoretically stay in jail a bit longer then players who've given up on busting because of a lack of targets to bust in jail will start competing for busts again and we'll be back to square one (ie. as supply increases so will demand).
As strange at it sounds the demand is suppressed at the moment because a lot of players who want to bust (perhaps like the OP) aren't lucky / quick enough to find players to bust or can't bust them out in time before someone else beats them to it and thus they end up giving up on busting.
Increase supply a bit and you'll just bring more busters into the frame and we'll end up back at the same status quo we're at now. The only thing that will change how long players stay in jail is if jail busting itself becomes less attractive from a crime exp perspective - which is the major driver for many active busters, especially those in or looking to join PA teams.
Like I said well thought out idea to some degree, but I don't think this is going anywhere, so I'll leave this unrated - good luck with the suggestion though.
I'm surprised how few serious busters have posted in this thread. I haven't rated it, though I've read it through several times. Do we really need to purposely inflate the number of people in jail?
I agree with difficulty based on the number currently in jail (if only a couple are in jail, every guard will be watching them), but not the NPC bit :)
