I have a recently developed phobia of villagers.
MadameButterfly [1035358]daphne [14757]Dogs. They scare the shit out of me. Doesn't matter what size. I've had to fake it lots in front of people and in front of dogs themselves, cause well, no one really gets it and when you say you're scared of dogs they try to make you touch them and stuff and f**k that.
I'm getting better. My gf has two dogs and I take care of them during the day. Like I feed them, take them out and talk to them. But I don't touch them, hardly ever. Every now and them I'll pat them on the head or when the big one is in a really good mood I'll let him play with me and when the little one is in a good mood i'll play with her too, sometimes. But yeah. Dogs. Scary things.
In my defense I was very badly attacked by 2 large Alsatians who were guarding a neighboring friends house. I was 5 and me and my best mate wanted to go visit. We went in not knowing the owners weren't home and the dogs attacked me. My friend had to run over to get his mom who was finally able to separate the dogs from me. They bit every part of me and I had blood coming down my face. Apparently I started wetting the bed again after the incident, and I was simply terrified of dogs afterwards. Plus where I grew up dogs are "haram" aka were on a similar level to pigs, although not quite as bad, so I had a great excuse to fully avoid them most of my life.
And then I fell in love with a dog lover, and well, new challenge and lessons for me in overcoming old fears and prejudice and what not. Lots of change for me. I'm not as scared these days, but I only like her dogs personally, although I still get scared of them at times, but I don't hate all dogs to the same extent as I used to and can now empathise with someone who has dogs and loves them.
I'm the opposite, I have absolutely no fear of dogs no matter how big or vicious they are, when I was a kid (about 5 years old) our neighbours dog even attacked my brother and instead of running away crying like most kids would I jumped on it and literally bit half its ear off and spit it out I swear lol the neighbour had a micky fit and started demanding that my parents paid the vet bills for it but my mum, beinga typical Irish mammy, told him to f**k off or she'd put the dog down herself lol Dogs generallyhave a phobia of me.
[]
LOL that made me laugh. I bet dogs wimper and run when you're near. Very brave kid too.
Procelain dolls are weird. Not a phobia but those f**kers are creepy. Why would anyone want to own one?
MadameButterfly [1035358]Silent-Rage [193964]I'm like that with clowns.
Oh, and dolls. I always feel the need to turn them around so they're not looking at me.
Oh shit yeah me too, my mum has loads of those porcelain dolls from the 50's that are all dressed in Victorian clothes and they creeped me out big time as a kid, hate the f**king things
My mum was exactly the same. Thankfully they're all in the attic now, although saying that, now I've convinced myself they're plotting against me for next time I visit. The creepiest one she had, it's face was all faded so it just had these dead eyes. Freaky shit.

People.
daphne [14757]They do, my landlord came down recently withhis Rottweiler and itis abig f**ker that had been used in dog fights in the past and I have cats I'm very protective of and it went for one of my cats so I grabbed it's bottom jaw (if you grab a dogs bottom jaw andtwist it you can make it do anything) andput 7 stone of dog downon the floor until he removed it from my cats. It was trained to be a fighting dogbut it is terrified of me lol but in all fairness I also have a bearded dragon and yellow bellied slider who roam around my apartment too so the dog would have killed them if he got the chance so it needed a bit of an ass kicking anywayxDMadameButterfly [1035358]daphne [14757]Dogs. I've accidentally eaten a penny before...just saying. :( It was no fun at all but it did come out eventually.
I had a problem with vacuum cleaners for a while. The sound was just....ugh! I couldn't be around it.
I still basically pole vault across the room to get into my sheets if I get up at night. There's obviously something under my bed. Lol.

I have that with fridges, when a fridge ticks over and starts vibrating I get really uncomfortable, everyone else seems to be able to ignore the sound but to me it's like a f**king orchestra is playing right beside my ear

If there is a moth/wasp/bee/spider in my bedroom i cant go to sleep at night until they have been 'removed' from the room. I have no problem in 'removing' them ie splatting them usually though i do usually try to coax them out of the window.
But if i know there is one in my room and i cant find it and 'remove' it then i have BIG problems in going to sleep :P
I used to be afraid of the ceiling, I was always thinking that something scary would appear from there.
What else...
I'll share more later. We all are weird AF.

I have something like that which I call a fear of "Up's", like I am not too crazy about being on the top of a tall building and looking down now or anything but if I look up at a massive crane or just even looking up at clouds in the sky I can get very dizzy and disorientated and start feeling like I need to vomit, it's like gravity working backwards or something lol

Spiders: Not exactly weird, but its my main one. Specifically house spiders and the ones that live in the brickwork - you know, the big black ones which look like they have too many legs pointing forward. Horrible, evil things. I am not too bad with garden spiders, although will avoid the bigger ones if I can. Don't really mind the smaller ones.
If there is one in my room and I can't catch it (with a spider catcher - I'm not brave) then I will definitely sleep downstairs. This might sound a bit unbelievable, but I swear it's the truth. My bed doesn't have four legs, it has 2 curved metal bars, and one night I woke up hearing such a noise in my room I genuinely thought there was a mouse in my room (we had mice a year before), so it was a natural half asleep assessment. Then it dawned on me what it actually might be! I think I managed to move from bed to light switch on the other side of the room in one go, bypassing all space in between. I flicked on the light just in time to see this big nasty thing emerge from the pillow side of the bed where my head had just been. I think the sound was the it's legs trying to climb up the curved metal legs!
I darted out the door as it was scuttling very quickly in my direction and got to the other end of the landing before I turned around and saw it had followed me, but had stopped smack bang in the middle of the doorway, right on the threshold of my room. Then in scurried back in, did a crazy figure of eight and vanished behind a cupboard. I barely managed to get enough courage to close the bedroom door, before sleeping downstairs.
The next day it was found by another member of the family whilst I was at work. This person is the one who usually deals with all the spider "problems", but they were actually reduced to tears as they retold to me how they had discovered the spider hiding under the cats water bowl (which has a cut out lip to lift it) and then had to try and deal with this big nasty eight legged monster as it chased them around the kitchen.
This event actually caused me to sleep with the light on for over a week despite being in my late twenties at the time.
My Cats Water Bowl: ^^^ After this incident I am always apprehensive of it encase I find something else has made a home there
Balsa Wood: Well, I think its balsa. The wood that you get in lollipops. I have no idea why it affects me the way it does, but just the thought of licking it makes my teeth go on edge and makes me talk momentarily with a huge lisp.
Flushing Toilets: Not had it for a couple of years now, but if the flush was loud I would feel panicky and have to cover my ears. Happened more at home than out I think.
One Doll: A few people have mentioned porcelain dolls. I don't really have a phobia of them, but I remember when I was child, my mum had this old, old doll from her childhood. I don't know what it was made of, but it was not soft. I think it had eyes that must have opened and closed at some point. I say at some point, because by the time I was introduced to it the eyes had long gone. What was left were two black empty holes were the eyes used to be. It always freaked me out. If I was in the same room as it by myself, I would always find myself looking over at it to check that it had not moved, or worse - that the eyes had reappeared somehow and were looking at me.
Faces without eyes: I don't remember this, but it may explain why the above doll always freaked me out. I think this came first. When I was really, really tiny, apparently I would scream the house down whenever someone drew a face, but left the eyes out. I don't know why my parents felt the need to prove this theory by tormenting me lol, but they must have done it enough to prove that it was the eyes that freaked me out. As soon as they drew the eyes on, apparently I was all happy and content again.
Airplanes: Again I was very young and don't remember, but apparently I would always sit down whenever one went over head, even if that meant sitting in a puddle. I would not get up until it had flown by. Maybe it was the noise more than the plane.

Ha on the spider thing, no mess today I had to clean out all the food from my locust tank (it's all grass, dandelion leaves and cauliflower leaves) to put new food in and I had to take over 50 locusts and put them along my arm while I was cleaning out their tank. some of them even walked up beside my neck and cheek and one was hanging out of my ear for a while until I was finished now how can I not freak out about that but copper money sends me into a f**king panic? lol

Do you think its the thought of all the germs or the fact that it used to be in your food?
Mentions: 1035358 [1035358]
Both, the food thing is very personal to me because of my inclination towards anorexia but the germ thing drives me nuts, I have OCD's about cleaning, I'll make lists of things that have to be bleached and cleaned in my apartment and until they are done I won't sleep, I'm not messing you could eat your dinner off my cat litter trays, they get cleaned out once a day and bleached down and new litter put in even if the cats don't use them, my snake, dragon and turtle get cleaned out once a week even though they really only need it once every 2 months. The locusts and crickets prefer food that is a bit rotten but still I feel compelled to remove them and clean their tanks and give them fresh food, I'm a poster child for OCD lol

Oh my god yes.
I cant lick it, I have to engage my teeth to finish any sort of ice cream on a stick. I dont mind it touching my teeth, but it goes through me to lick it.
I dont like touching frozen cardboard. I dont mind the glossy stuff on the outside of boxes of food, but the papery inside is horrible.
