How can i actually increase my rank as soon as possible. anybody?

Rank is determined by certain 'triggers'
Either total crimes, level or networth.
First 2 are self explanatory, networth though is the total amount of cash earned from selling items to the system or money made from crimes. So selling a lot of expensive items to the city shop is a good way to raise that quickly and therefore rank up quickly. Flamethrowers are generally a good one for this, they cost 3m to buy and 2.5m to sell (You'll generally always be selling for a loss when raising networth, the trick is to do it in such a way that minimises your loss by selling items with a sell value as close as possible to their buy value, such as flamethrowers)
The triggers are as follows:
Total crimes: 100, 5000, 10000, 20000, 30000 & 50000
Level: 2, 6, 11, 26, 31, 50, 71 & 100
Networth: $2k, $50k, $500k, $3m, $10m, $20m, $50m, $200m, $1b, $2.5b & $5b
Hit any of these triggers and you'll rank up

I didnt rank up when i hit 5k crimes so it seems that the 5k one is not valid. It must of been valid before respo but now as i said it didnt do anything.

f**k me your right , i hit 2500 theft the other day and got my merit for it and i confused the 2500 with 5000.

If you want to hit the rank triggers without spending money do the 2 NB crimes. Search the theatre it will give you a little crime exp while you're at it. Might as well get started early if you want to get them over with.

Its not the cheapest though
Cheapest is doing 12 nerve GTA's and selling the cars at the docks instead of the item market. You lose a bit in profit, but the cars didn't cost you anything to buy in the first place so who cares?
