So a long time ago a company named blizzard created a game called Hearthstone and this game was totally awesome and became one of the most enjoyable games for myself, the end.
If anyone else plays the game (it's a CCG similar to that of Magic the gathering) then feel free to let others know and perhaps we could give a few games? personally i play on the EU server.
The game is simplistic and lacks tactical prowess. It's very hard to screw up a play due to the level of simplicity. At the same time massive swaths of people manage to do just that.
Being a card game there are cards with the same function as others but better. The result is players with brains and low end decks being paired against players with similarly designed decks with more expensive cards that have no brains. The result is you get to play with idiots all day that have better cards to help even out the odds in a game of simplicity, then you get to sit there watching them make mistake after mistake, and really who wants to beat on morons? MM should be based around your collection or deck value.
Anyways you know what else was released at around the same time without the same advertising budget? Infinity Wars, it's also much better than hearthstone. To call Hearthstone "totally awesome" is a massive stretch though thankfully an opinion.
I guess the main point here is that if you like hearthstone you may want to consider at least trying infinity wars.

i think i'll have to simply agree to disagree with you, the E-sport scene for the game is a massive contradictory for most of your points and while i wont disagree that it's simpler in some areas such as the mana to land system it uses it is almost considered a better change over all. The games Meta is constantly changing and with the addition of new cards and classes being planned entirely free it also has very low entry levels vs a lot of other CCGs
Your point about there being morons in the game is true, it applies to every CCG ever created and possibly every game ever created, there will always be skills levels and the ranking system greatly reflects this, if you're too good you'll quickly go through the ranks to meet your skill level and meet players with similar skill levels, not that i think infinity wars is a worse game by any means. I haven't played it so it's unfair for me to compare but i think it's clear that you prefer one over the other which is fine but a slightly unfair comment on HS in my opinion at least.
Actually to be entirely fair mat I don't play either anymore so it's not really a fanboy perspective so much as me feeling that mechanically Infinity Wars is simply a better game. Guess I came off sounding like a fanboy due to the levels where I just really didn't like hearthstone. As someone that plays a LOT of CCGs beyond what was mentioned in the previous post I just don't like the mechanics at all. Anyways as someone that likes Hearthstone you may want to spend a day checking out IW just to see what it's about if nothing else, just my opinion. I'm the type that likes to give every game in a genre I like a look.
na m8, get hearthstone and you'll see why it's the 3rd most played game currently in the world k thx
also do EU, as and na are pretty lame.
1. Advertising budget 2. Massive number of supported platforms 3. Casual
what's your definition of casual? mine is by the time spent in the game o.O - there is a massive skill gap between good and great players and that's enough for me to consider it a very good competitive game... being the 3rd most played game currently is enough the game to have enough players for me too, i know you dislike it but your reasons are so opinion based and no actual objective reasoning >.<
Hearthstone is like the LoL of trading card games. As in the sense it was made so noobs can play it -- highly noob friendly, 'free to play', addictive, and a high player base. This game is slightly difficult to play free to play -- however it is possible you just need to get good at their game mode type called 'arena' and do the 'quests' or missions i suppose we would call them here that they give you each day-- Also this game lacks cards and needs more.
Also the ranked play in this game sucks. Ypu have to play way too much in order to hit top rank and ranks reset every month so there is no reason to keep re- ranking up each month as there is no reward for hitting the top rank except for a card back and it's the same card back everytime so no reason to do it a second time.

It's a great game -- I just don't recommend it.
i don't know if noob friendly is really the way to put it, i think i'd use easily accessible. The game itself is also as you say a "hard f2p" in that it's hard to play the game while remaining f2p but as people like trump have proven it's possible for someone with a brand new account and no money spent on extra cards to become a legend rank
i think that is once again very opinion based, i myself enjoy the grind, it means players who are more casual wont play as often and it's reflected in their rank, being able to hit rank of legend while putting in very little time is something i'm very against which is why i play games like this (very much a grind style system) and the resets just keep the place fresh and allow for the meta to change often making the game change a lot more than a normal CCG and also keeping the rank system open to players who perhaps didn't do as well last season (do get a card back for a "perm reward" )
once again, nothing you've said is wrong like everything i said, it's not wrong but simply opinion based.
Mostly i just wouldn't recommend from the last time i played it hunter was the only class being played because it was overpowered, i'm sure it's been fixed by now -- and after playing it since beta they only released 30 new cards. So i'm just worn out from it. It is free so it's worth a try -- didn't mean to slam on it as hard as i did. As senpai said im not a fan of their ranked play but you still get some okay competition even if you casually play ranked.
mug [553318]Agreed with you on that, my post was my opinion.
