Got attacked, and the timer runs out. Attacker new they were going to lose so they just let the timer run down.

Nobody benefits from a stat perspective. The interesting thing is that if you were to be chaining and tried to make an attack during the time he was just waiting, you wouldn't be able to. Kinda an exploit if you ask me.
