when racing, if there are lets say 4 ferarri's, if all are maxed the same upgrades...as in parts being the same, will the driver with the higher skill win the race?

To the record holders: How high is your skill?
Baldr [1847600] Reporter

There is some randomness involved. There is one guy I've raced against several times. I always use the same car, he always uses the same car. (We have the same type, but I'm not sure of how our upgrades compare.) His driver skill is higher than mine.

Most of the time he wins, but not always. Sometimes, that random factor allows me to win against him.

I don't want to imply that the skill doesn't matter. I'm sure the driver skill helps, which is why he wins more often than I do when we race one on one.

I'm going to venture a guess that all record holders driving skill is north of 20.

Having 5 maxed out class A cars, I have definitely noticed my lap times improve as my driving skill going up. Like Baldr mentions, I don't think it is the entire determinant of who is going to win the race. My belief is that it is tied to each lap, and having a higher skill means you have a better chance of running lower lap times. So there are times where a lower skill driver can win races, but the majority of the time the higher skill driver will be victorious.

My version is:
Driving skill is a percentage of having a good lap.
My DS is 16.0 so I have 16% chance of having a good lap.
A good lap means that with the maxed car you are close to the lap record.

How cloce?
Here comes the randomness again, which determines your time.
Also the DS is changing your time by the extremely small ammout - enough to make the best drivers - record holders.

Class C with a 4.19 DS(rising a couple hundreths daily). if seriously curious, let's have drivers of comparable DS race in say 3 consecutive races and compare results?!?

Driver skill matters a lot but is still random. When completing my 250 win merit I faced someone with similair skill in the same car in 1 lap speed way races. These were the only races he was doing but I would do xp races and point races when I could. What started out even ended with me winning 90% of the time.

With that said lap times would vary by as much 12 seconds for me (back to back races with very little difference). I'm convinced that the each person results are individual and the other racers have no effect on what my actual lap times will be.

The reality is driver skill only makes a big difference in class A.
