I live In Australia and I pity the countries being bled dry by the unelected President of the EU and its public servants . man you guys got conned
dunmugmeh [538353]

Its too big now and too commie ie trying to make everyone equal with all the eu grants etc.

It does stop the germans from empire building at least. They are so busy trying to make the eu work they dont have the time to start any more wars.

To be honest i would be happy if we left the EU ie United Kingdom.

The eu has just become too big, wasteful and inefficient.

It will be an interesting year for sure. Many people thought that Scotland would vote for independence too but never.
Has there been any poll on this lately to see what the general public want?

I can see the UK leaving with the rise of UKIP if they have a substantial amount of votes they may do a coalition with their demands being a EU referendum, Farage even said he would do a coalition if that demand is met although it relys on people voting for them

Which is why we should all band together to defeat the far-right, populist, 'kippers.

Oh, kippers ye'd better be quiet and still
Ye shan't have your wishes, do what ye will
A toast to the lads that make kippers lie down
Down, down, kippers lie down!

tory being pro EU, u wot m8

they'll be voting soon to see if the uk wishes to remain within the EU, they'll leave - going to be a great train wreck afer that honestly.
JamesBanana [1874926]

I voted against EU but are not really against it as a concept. I am against it forcing economic policies on member states and I am no big fan of EUs shared military resources. The EU needs to be more democratic which to me means remove the council of ministers and put all power with the parliament.
Mat-Senpai [952164]

yes but the reason for voting no has a number of factors such as 300,000 odd english who lived in scotland being able to vote as well as the promise for devo max, withou devo max i fear we'll be voting within 10 years time and it looks like no devo max.

I'm not convinced that the Conservatives are really pro-EU. And do we have 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 or 7 main parties?
dunmugmeh [538353]

we have 2 main parties and 2 minor (lib dem/snp) the rest are nowhere with the amount of seats they will get.

the conservatives are pro EU. Margeret Thatcher hated the EU but she couldnt do anything about it because the rest of her party wanted to stay in.
Mat-Senpai [952164]

the tories plan to hold a vote on if the uk remain within the EU or note, to say they're pro-EU is rather confusing.

edit: something also important to note the leading party for the UK within the EU isn't any of the normal major parties, it's UKIP.
