Judgement [1728095]

Temporary weapons should be based off of rounds instead of using a time duration which peeps can easily avoid. The rounds can be 6, 8, 10, 12, etc.

Lets say you are group attacked and you used your temporary weapon. It would affect all the players for a set number of rounds.

Or you used a temporary and you get attacked by another player. The player after the temporary will not get affected.

@OP If your only concern is the use of Temporary Weapon during defense (i.e. you are not in active control of your character) Then one way to accomplish this would be for them to change the way Temp Debuffs work during defense.

You'll want to be more specific and flesh out your idea better. In your first post you need to describe how something like this would actually be accomplished in game, if anything needs to be specifically altered, and how Ched/Dev might go about this. You also should thinking about how changes might be abused ect. and ways to avoid this so players use these mechanics "as designed"

For example, instead of it being a timed duration, set it to expire after x amount of rounds of combat (regardless of if it misses or lands) and/or when the attacker loses/wins/ends combat/after 5 mins (whichever comes first)

Personally I never liked the duration time mechanic as players who aren't on good connections, or if server experiences any hiccups will cause your debuffs to lose a lot of their value or basically give players on a better connection a noticeable advantage. Torn's combat system is also weird because it mixes active timed battle elements with its original turn based conception making for awkward moments as this suggestion clearly shows.

G'luck on this.

Temp weapons shouldn't work as well when defending imo - they're meant to be something you use when you attack. Maledict's suggestion would also limit boosters to one attack only which I'm not keen on.
