is it worth spending points in safety upgrades?
I haven't. I certainly wouldn't do it until you are class A and have your car fully upgraded. As best I can tell, they don't make you any faster, don't help you win races, and don't lower the chance of you having a wreck. The only thing they do that I'm aware of is to lower the amount of hospital time if you wreck. Most of us are going to med out or get a revive, so that's not very important, IMO.
They don't seem to affect hosp time off a crash either. I have no idea what affect the safety upgrades actually do, but I do have them all on all my A class cars. I wouldn't bother under A class though.
The safety must do something though, right? I agree with all of what Baldr says about safety except for the time off hosp part. It doesn't affect that either. But it must do something.... Perhaps helps with what parts you lose in a crash? You lose less expensive parts perhaps?
I think safety reduces the number of upgrades lost after a crash. But yeah, don't bother until A class and then only after other upgrades.
Nope it has no effect on how many upgrades you lose whatsoever - I've had cars with all the safety gear lose 3 parts and I've had cars with no safety gear lose only 1 part.
There also doesn't seem to be much of an effect on what parts you lose either - that just seems to be luck of the draw.
