I've been a casual racer up until now. So i'm not that familiar with how all the upgrade works. But the question is are the upgrades accumulative or just go for the est.
For example the engine upgrades like Polishing
Is is better to buy the last one or is it better to buy all three because you get the benefit of all of them. Or would that simply be a waste of points.

For upgrades like polishing, you can get all of them and gain the benefits from all of them together. However, there are some, like the tires, where you can only use one of the upgrades at a time. When you're in a position like this, I'd recommend getting the last of each type since they usually have the greatest benefits. One final thing to look out for while upgrading your car(s) is the Dirt and Tarmac, since upgrades for those will usually make one better while making the other one worse. If you want to get an upgrade that deals with those, make sure and check your car's stats to see what would be the most beneficial to put that upgrade towards. For example, my car had a higher Tarmac so I continued to upgrade that instead of trying to increase my lower Dirt stat.

OK..so if you get the polished throttle body..and then you decide to upgrade to the competition throttle body..you will lose the first upgrade and the points you spent on it..like wise with the turbo..pistons...some brake parts.,the upgrades do not compound on one another and you wasted your points.
