Your popularity depends solely on the income you make compared to top earner of your company type. It is simply indicator and at 100% means that your company makes at least the same amount as the best earner if you aren't one already. At 50% it means that you make as much as 50% of the top earner.
Test every thing until you will find best solution for your company. You can start with change the price for 1-2 days and see how daily income changes, then you can do the same with others. The popularity is strictly related to daily income. When your daily income will grow the popularity will grow.
As ridiculous as it sound IGNORE popularity. It is a relative number. Try to maximize your Income, this is an absolute number and will really show whether what you do is effective or not. your popularity could be 100% and you could still perform below optimum. also since your a new company, i wouldn't be scared too much by low polarities. Just try to steadily increase absolute income, this should -in theory at least- lead the way for optimal performance and thus becoming number one and popularity leader :)

As to increasing popularity (your income), with all the updates, alot of people are pushing cash into advertising and over inflated wages to attract higher stat players. Any changes you make at the moment will give you squewed results untill things settle down over the next few weeks. I would advise:
Take time to learn how the company works.
Make sure your employees have the best stats for there job role
Keep there effectiveness up, the better the stars, the better there performance
As a VERY rough guide, check other companies that are performing better than you to see what job roles have been assigned
A simple one, make sure you have enough stock! (If you need stock that is)
And finally...be patient! Don't make too many changes at once, it will be hard to track what has an effect
Actually most rl businesses use Net Profit as there measure of success. Popularity means nothing if your spending double your income on advertising and/or wages. Gross profit is just a number it's what you take home that counts.
The thing is that most real life companies don't have specials that are based on star ratings, which in turn is based on 'gross' income, which in turn is represented by popularity []
If i change advertising budget how long it will take effect?and i still dont understand what is RRP for?should i put price below that or higher than that?
As mentioned earlier, popularity is just a measure of how much your company earns as compared to top company. In you case it might be possible that income of top company has increased much more than yours.
Example - Top company makes 10m per week, your's make 2m per week - popularity = 20% Top company makes 20m per week, your's make 3m per week - popularity = 15%
In long term this will be good indicator how well you are performing against 10* company and by using that knowledge you can calculate are you going to retain your rating after current week or perhaps lose it or even raise it.
This isn't real life guys, Torn bases company success on how much money you bring in, not what you spend. Yes, this is flawed system as rich Torn players can just dump a massive amount on advertising and get to the top spot within a few days/weeks.
Torn has a habit of calling income 'profit' when it is NOT PROFIT. Income and profit are totally different things.
