You could use existing format and just change parameters.
Make it fully clothed and folks might have to get more creative, but it's still just be a popularity contest or discreetly bought votes.
Scrooge was highly popular, could use A heist format to still use the mr/mrs torn items... Have players coordinate to attack the security team that will be transporting the crowns to steal them and some lesser rare items... Like the Scrooge but with multiple targets to spread the load.
It doesn't have to be much to get folks involved, and anything is better than nothing for engaging newer players imo. All the bitching is coming from the same voices who bitch about whatever you'll do anyway.
Even something simple or familiar that engages the Newb's and oldsters without shitty pants is worth your time.
I would never in a million years participate in Mr/Miss Torn, but I do like looking through and voting on the entries. Some people come up with really creative pics and I certainly have no qualms about some of the participants showing some skin. I'm shocked at the comments regarding a few racy pics. It is surprising we have prudes playing a crime game making morality complaints. Go over to Facebook and pretend to farm as that sounds more your thing.
Overall, I think Mr/Miss Torn is a filler in the calendar, but it is hard to come up with compelling competitions for every month. To the naysayers in this thread, try suggesting some replacement competitions rather than just shooting stuff down.
I personally never participate in mr/mrs torn. so to me there already is no competition going so taking it away just means theres no comp for every one. I dont like popularity contests. if it was a serious contest none of the last winners would have won. they look like weak guys and fake girls. that dont look like what the games supposed to be about. Thugs mobsters in suits or armor or a pimp with his hoes. not hi im jeff in shorts with a cute chick here and a $10,000 computer right behind me because thats how i roll.
Ched, Keep in mind, many players also enjoy the "Nostalgia and Repetition of Past events" as well as new events, with everything that goes along with these events. ALL past events should be continued to keep players in the game mindset.
Certain players create this thread only to vote down ideas - and only for their own gratification and not for what is best for the game.
Alot of players really enjoyed the egg hunt with everything that went along with it, and we look forward to all your new ideas, as well as the planned monthly events. Create a Channel in Forums for Events in Torn, and let all host their events there too!
It might be better to actually release some of the competitions/updates for realtime testing (other events/competitions/armour sets/ammos etc) you are keeping underwraps, but are completed.
Then enjoy the fun with the rest of us using them in the game too! It is this anticipation of things to come, with new ideas and absolute respect for the past that gives the game its interest, and continuity. Example: release all the NPCs for us all to fight! Duke NPC is the best brilliant addition in recent years, with daily attacks, hosps and bounties. Hoorah

This game was meant to attract young people. I don't think anyone would appreciate seeing granny on display in her bloomers vying for the crown. sounds like there wont be any challenging event before halloween if i red ched's statement right... been a long time to get the easter event and it s a huge disappointment for many... maybe it's time players get their hands on making torn a funnier place.. just saying, not throwing any stones.

Yes, having some form of event/competition is better than nothing at all. Mr./Mrs Torn is very easy for people to ignore if they do not want to participate.
