Popups

Is it just me or are there a whole bunch of pop up adds everywhere now? Is this just me, or is a thing of Torn now?

You have viruses on your computer.
Stop downloading 'free' stuff from the interweb.
Install spybot search and destroy from safer networking and run a scan with it.
Install adblock plus a browser addon.
Get good anti virus. I have used avast for 8 years and no virus problems for me.

I appreciate the advice, but I am fairly sure that's not the problem as I do not download 'free stuff' and also because I should have explained a bit more. The adds are a part of Torn as far as I can tell, there are words all over the place which are hyper-linked to other random websites and occasionally pop up when hovered over. To my knowledge there are no viruses[image: cdncache-a.akamaihd.net] on my computer that can affect websites' designs.

Torn does not have popup ads... You do. Do the math

Then it is time to update your knowledge. You definitely have some sort of malware on your computer.

Post a screenshot so we can confirm its adware? I'll show you how the normal page looks like afterwards.

The only pop-up (sort of) in torn is the chat box.
Or city watch. I like those pop-ups, lol.

i have got a similar problem, when my spouse used a website to see a movie online.

Why would a virus not be able to effect what your browser displays? Sure doing so is harder than not doing so but that's true of everything.

You have a virus bro... No biggie, just get a freaking antivirus.

I had the same thing happen dude... Install adblock as recommended by dunmugmeh and get antivirus as others have suggested... Problem solved... It worked for me...

That's the problem though, I have ad-block, no-script and an AV. I also have lots of knowledge with Malware and Viruses, I am also no idiot, I don't do any of the normal things that get viruses and the first thing I did was check for viruses.
I appreciate all the comments you've given, I'll take them all into account.
Mainly the point of this was to check if it was something to do with Torn or with me.

Yeah, the problem is on your end not on Torn's end.
Some adwares/malwares are getting more sophisticated. Check any adons/plugins or anything else that you might have, some of them are using those to inject whatever, there are others that use the "Quick search" functionality in the browser..

Also, when using no-script make sure to not do "Allow all this page" on Torn page, just selectively white list torn.com

What was it? Virus, malicious addon or something else?

More like adware or junkware I suspect. Usually using JRT or AdwCleaner will do the clean-up pretty nicely.. and for free too.. ;)
