I've just finished the combat bachelor course. Can someone enlighten me as to the particulars of this feature? Specifically, is it a static gain of experience per attack, or will I have different gains by opting to leave/mug/Hosp?
Weapon experience

I've just finished the combat bachelor course. Can someone enlighten me as to the particulars of this feature? Specifically, is it a static gain of experience per attack, or will I have different gains by opting to leave/mug/Hosp?
I'm pretty sure it's a static gain for each time you hit someone with it, so something like a pillow is easy to level because you just keep hitting them until you stalemate
You gain weapon xp for every successful hit you land on your opponent. You get weapon xp both for attacking and defending.
Like thedarklegacy said - if you find someone with substantially lower dex than yourself (and STR obviously), hit them 25 times with a pillow to level your weapon faster. It's a waste of energy though - chaining, mugging or just going postal will get you there as well :D
It gets exponentially harder to level you weapon as you get closer to 100 %, just like it is with levelling up your character in Torn. Hitting 100 % isn't THAT hard though...
As a guide it took me in the region of 900 wins to max out my Armalite and I reckon something like for my dual sams. I bet 90% were 1 hit wins so this equates to 1,000 hits to max out your weapon. Give or take.
I maxed out pillow with far fewer wins, but obviously more hits per win.
Like Chigurh said, when you get closer to 100% is does seem more harder to achieve the 100% (it 'seemed' to take an age with my armalite), although with my pillow it seemed to go much more quickly.
Thank you all for your replies. I'll be starting with my Armalite, as well. 1000 hits (as a rough estimate, like manik said) may take awhile, so I'd better get busy! Lol
Not much to add to the Experience gains, but I love weapon experience. After you get your primary weapons up to 100% then switch to random ones and rank them up for fun.
I'd say it's closer to 1500-2000 hits, but that's just my own personal experience with 5 weapons at 100%
Is there a rough idea of the damage/accuracy gains from weapon experience?
25% for both
at 100% weapon experience
so im at 99% is that a big difference?
Between 99% and 0%. Frack yes. If both players had exactly the same stats. Yet their weapons had 0% and you would have 99%, you would dominate (unless they get crits, and you dont).
Between 99% and 100% there is no real noticable difference, unless as stated above, you/they get crits.
