Is there any way to get around the same IP address restriction? I recruited my housemate to play and it won't let me send him anything. Emailed staff a few days ago but no response. Thanks.

If you stop using the same IP and wait a while the restriction will be lifted
Same thing. My friend got me into the game and he was at my house using the WiFi now we can't trade for a few months. :(

Trying to get around it will just end up with staff fedding you and deleting anything you transfer as punishment...
It's 6 months (or 3 months, don't remember) before the restriction is lifted, as long as you and him don't use the same IP.
The selfish geeks who cheat make it harder for normal people who play this game. You cant help anyone who lives in your house and probably quite close to you. If you play from your phone you cant even interact with people who live thousands of miles away because some phone companies generate the same IP.
if this makes you mad go after the multies they are quite easy to spot and a lot of them throw their toys out of their pram when little things like bounties and mugging start happening :P

Except there are other ways to prevent multies. Every single multiplayer game has to deal with this. The decision to rely on cumbersome same-ip blocks is entirely in Torn's management hands.
Better than the alternative? I have yet to find a meaningful way to actually use a multi. Not that I have one, it's a waste of time, but how exactly can the extra items a multi can gain be in any way game breaking? At most I can see them using job specials.

you can't send anyone with the same IP anything if they live with you torn will consider them your multiple account and delete both your accounts from the game.
if a friend joined the game from your house then doesn't log in at your house ever again for a long time then it will be lifted eventually after a few months or something
