I've been playing for a little bit now. I've been wondering how long it takes for your nerve to increase. I can't seem to find an answer beyond "Just keep doing crimes". Can I mix around the types of crime I do, or do I have to keep doing the same one until I see it go up?

No one will be able to give a definite answer to this one.

But the general one is 'eventually'. Just like with a lot of aspects of this game, it's not something that will happen overnight or even within a week or two... It could and more than likely will take months.

There are various guides and tutorials detailing how players have achieved increases (and also destroyed them!) but there is no 'true' answer as we don't know for sure what the 'perfect' crimes are for increasing experience. We only have a rough 'idea'.

Perhaps look at the tutorial sub forum for further advice?

My personally route was to do 2 crimes then 4 crimes (thousands of these) then move on to 9 and 11 crimes WHEN I was doing more green than browns. And it took a good few months to achieve 45nb status.

To give you a frame of reference...I just passed 5000 total crimes. Half of those are Jacket Thefts, and then I powered thru Search for Money to get an award (rank up) for 5k total.

So, I can't rem what nerve you start with, but my natural nerve is still at 25...and hasn't been at 25 for more than a few weeks.

As manik said, there's no real answer. Getting jailed reduces your crime exp, and your base happy is said to improve your success. Yes, it feels like it is taking forever. But it makes it that much sweeter when you reach a goal.

Again, as manik stated...read the tutorial forum posts and devise a game plan.

Check the Guide section of the Forum. There's a really good Crime/nerve bar guide there (Nash's guide to nerve bar or something). Basically you just want to stick to theft (Jackets only!) until you have 30 Natural NB. Why? Theft gives you a lot of merits up to 10k, it helps you rank, and stealing Jackets is so safe even your grand grandmother could do it without getting caught. When you hit 30 NNB, try 9 nerve Stealth Virus or 11 Arson Warehouse like Mudbottom said. You can't go wrong.

i put 6 merits into crime success rate and did roughly 300 jacket theft crimes without being jailed then my natural nerve bar went up i hope that helps
