When I was in FTW a long time trusted member took 13 Billion out of the faction bank, and fLIcked over his real life father and brother and long time faction members. And so when I co-ran Insurrection we didn't allow members to use the faction bank. And when I was in RAWR I didn't trust Rich with a penny of my money.

This was a shitty situation, and so was the situation in FTW. Moral of the story: Use a faction bank at your own risk.

A year of knowing someone in a online game is like knowing someone enough to wave at them in real life. The root of the problem is people being gullible. No offense, it happens to us all.

Unlike my long time friend Flatpeek, I do prefer the company of sheep to snakes. ;) Of which is my sentiments about the subject in this forum, his behavior is very snake like.

But never say never, there are instances of rare occurence where one embraces somethinng they can't tolerate, and you my friend fits that description...lol...Careful Noc, I left myself wide open, just don't get forum banned taking advantage of that opening.

My old mate you talking about openings and snakes in a thread such as this well all i can say is well played sir you spear me into action i try to fill the void without arrest / warning ;) but alas in cases like this where sheep bleet snakes can slither in and out and openings reveal themselves for abuse and general amusement i can but smirk and add some inuendo carefree

The first real occurrence was when a guy called Sephiroth emptied the HT vault in 2009 of 2.3b. At the time HT were the top faction in torn and 2.3b was a huge amount of cash. Apparently this landed him in fed for 30 days and money was returned to the rightful owners. About a month after this event scamming was made legal and according to Sephiroth his actions were the main reason for it.

Life goes on I suppose. We come here to make friends.. but also end up making enemies. Of the friends made, some may screw you in the end.

Factions are an important aspect of Torn. I had a blast in SPITE .. and now at PT. I cant imagine being in a faction where u cannot trust its leaders.

T-Rex Rawr was never the same as it was when you were running it. Back then it was a force and a chaining machine, it is nothing but a shell of its former self now which is fitting considering the person running it now. I wish you and your family all the best in your new faction home and a speedy recovery of all the upgrades you worked so hard to get over the years.

That's completely false. The stock market was in full swing in 2009, HT had a hell of lot more money than that, even after Tea-gate in 2008.

Faction theft rules were changed after people started gambling with money that wasn't theirs, since it was protected... Example, a poor player with faction access pulls out 10 billion dollars and bets it on a game. If the bet wins, you become rich, if it loses, you go to fed for two weeks, or a month, and the faction is refunded the protected money.

There was also the thing with Valesh getting mugged for all the faction money.
