Your first idea? Noticeable improvement, original artwork, not trying to auction everything off and look like a money hungry whorebag.

In other words, grasp the basics, then work on improving, then, when you finally get enough interest, that is the time to auction. No one likes a newbie whose just in it for money. No. One.

Dude buyers want pretty much anything and everything. They would even buy your first post!
They will hope to get everything free or as cheap as possible. Make up your own shit, do do a whole bunch of different stuff, post it asking for CNC. Maybe someone will give you suggestions maybe they'll just shit on your work.
GFX is a tuff gig to get into and the artists are the biggest critics of fellow artists stuff some of them have been doing this for years and can obviously get P.O'd when fresh faces just straight to an auction with little effort or poor design!
Other suggestion is offer a number of custom works and ask for renders, images, themes etc and you design something for them.
