Https:: does seem to not work on Chrome anymore.
What browsers have you tested?
Doesn't work on Firefox either
If you're that concerned, I'd assume your using a different password for every site. In which case, Torn is just a game, so it wouldn't be a horrible security breach, and they'd be able to track by IP anything that happened and likely restore any losses.
These day, you must be careful on everything you do on the net. I was a victim of a malware attack and now to this day, I reinstall windows every month and change all important passwords every 5 months.
It's better to be safe then sorry.
I do use a different password for every user account that represents me online. And while youre right it wont be a incredibly detrimental to myself, it is a breach of my data I trusted to Torn nonetheless.
End of the day, Torn does store some data, including my email address. Torn is just a game, but it is also a business. As a customer of any product or service I trust that my data is secured appropriately in both transport and storage.
Heck, if I had the choice, Id enable multi-factor authentication on all my digital products, no matter how big or small they were.
https works for me on my mobile with chrome,
and also works on my desktop when using IE,
but it does not seem to work when I use updated firefox on my desktop.

I tested https with the latest versions of Firefox 40.0 and 41.0a2 - works well for me. The issue could be on your side.
https seems to work fine on chrome and mobile for me also.
Chrome 44.0.2403.130 m on Win7, and no problem with https detected in the last couple of days either...
I use latest firefox and just tried https:// infront of this and doesn't show up as it. I'm also concerned about the security of this even though it is a "game".

It's on the login page? If you use https://torn.com, you'll be redirected to http://www.torn.com (without https)
To get https on the login page, you need to use full address (including www) - https://www.torn.com
I had this issue with firefox and seemed to have fixed it for now:
I went into firefox options, then privacy, and checked the box that says "always use private browsing mode".
After the browser restarted, my requests for https worked again.
Then I went back and unchecked it, and my https requests are continuing to work ok like they should.
Though funny how other users noticed the same problem starting at the same time.
