I have 9 tags in my possession.
It seems the more I advertise this the less chances there are of teeving me!
Or I could be lying and have 0 and just be trolling?
No one cares because even if you did the tags would be worthless.

Sure it's fair, stronger people can attack more people and therefore get more points. They've been playing longer, training harder, and are more involved - why shouldn't they get a larger reward than you?
I really think this year is awesome since I am using my medical cool downs daily. Most they have got from me is 60k sso I have no issues. BTW- I may or may not have 400+ tags on me.
If you still think this competition is unfair as it is, here's what the very first dog tag competition looked like: when someone attacked you, he was able to steal ALL your tags... in one fell swoop!
Let it sink in for for a bit: all tags, one fell swoop... No random chance, just hit and steal...
That's what I would call "unfairness"!
In order for any 1 player to have collected 50 dogtags, this means that in theory, 49 others will have lost theirs. There just arent enough inactives to go around for everyone to have a chance at "winning". Once "someone" finds you hold tags and realizes they can beat you, they will bleed you dry. All they flying and self-hosping in torn wont stop it for a whole month.
TBH, if you aren't absolutely relentless and dont train all month, arent in the top 20 of either stats or networth, which I am neither, you have no chance of doing well in this competition. Its not a big deal, just dont carry a bunch of money and you wont lose anything you never had in the first place.
They can't bleed you dry, because the more they attack you, the less they get a chance of stealing it.
I am sitting on 9 of them and since then 11 people have attacked me, 0 of them stole just one dog tag.
I have never particularly cared for this competition but I have to say it is set up much better this year than in previous years. Since you are less likely to lose tags when you are frequently attacked, almost any player can make net gains of tags every day if they try.
The better criticism of the event is that it will greatly favor the rich. Those who can utilize four FHCs per day have a massive advantage.
Personally, having to drop a bil on FHCs, and the massive energy drain, make the competition not worth it to try. Maybe next year.
I wouldn't be surprised to see a level 30 who flys below the radar and just hits low level inactives finish with the most tags.
As far as someone suggesting earlier in the thread that the top prize will be worth 25 bil, that is laughable.

I know that I have no hope in this competition this year...and regardless of if it's fair or not I opt out because I'm not nearly strong enough to compete. I look forward to next year though! :-)
Really what is fair? If someone wants to put more time/effort into this competition than you it's not fair because you have to work, sleep, watch tv or wack it. If someone has more money than you it's not fair because you don't donate, trade or have friends. If someone has more stats than you it's not fair because they have more money, time or have been playing longer.
Why don't they just make it so that you can't attack anyone unless you have the same exact stats and networth? That would be loads of fun. Most things aren't completely fair no need to cry about it.
I don't want to waste tons of e attacking people for their tags it's not fair ched should let me attack with no e so I can still train too. Or every time someone's tag is stolen they just spawn a new one that way I'm not pissed off when they have nothing. :'(

What I am saying is of course players who are better will do better. They have earned their place, you little noobs need to stop expecting success to be handed to you on a plate.
I have been playing torn about 7 years +. I am extremely active. Why should you just get to jump on torn and win?
typically the really active players are strong. If you are really active you will be strong as well and be able to beat enough people to have a chance in the competition. Maybe not first but you can get a lot of tags.
Dont expect anything torn to be handed to you. Plus if it was handed to you, you wouldn't be addicted to torn.
dunno what the fuss is about someone stole my 15 dog tags and the next person stole my 16 dog tags considering I had not done anything in order to gain 1 plus what I had previously lost its a fair bet that the crying ain't over yet so BOO HOO you suckers your turn will come x

The players doing well in this comp aren't just getting tags handed to them, it's costing energy, time and money.
Earning the strength to do well is one part of the competition. The second part is putting it into practice. This is a lot easier said than done.
For reference, and because my enemy list has exploded >.<
Total cost to me in terms of cash was the purchase of a few refills, some xan (i used the energy to get more attacks in quick in early) and a few cans. Amazingly, after months of super shit finds, i've found a couple energy cans in the city which helped too.
This comp used to be super shit, but now that you only lose one tag at a time at most and it'd random, evens it out a lot. The last week will be a blood bath between a hand full of people, but in the interim there's plenty of room to get the merit.
