newbie here, how to use merits?
If you are wondering how/where: go to the awards tab on the left side of the screen. Then go to the right most tab on the page. You click on the bar that you want to upgrade to spend merits.
If you are wondering what you should spend merits on: it depends. Many people choose to reduce education time to get those bonuses faster, then reset later on when they finish all their courses. Crime success rate is a good one too. Choosing to upgrade your battle stats is up to you. Bank investment is mainly useful later in the game when you have much more money to store. One that I, personally, would not spend merits on is awareness.
