Anyone checked the newspaper today? IIIlusionist has written an article with an update on the progress of missions!

Agent standing is something I haven't seen before, maybe I haven't been paying attention but I think this could be quite a cool implementation. It'd be interesting to see 2 agents who were not fond of each other, and raising one's standing will lower the others.

It's stated that reward items you can purchase with mission tokens are not permanently available too, meaning rare items could only be available for a limited amount of time. I think that concept is pretty cool as well. I think maybe the idea to have a limited number of rare items occasionally popping up would be a nice touch for a lucky first few who discover it.

Check out the newspaper for the full article.

What are people's thoughts?

(Ps. Props to IIIlusionist for 2 newspaper articles in a week!)

Laughing at both of those edits [] , I removed the "Who is excite" as I realised the last person who posted a thread like this did the same thing, and I could imagine it becoming another "I am excite" thread haha

There probably wont be much to make from what we can see for now, but 5 of the other icons are locked...who knows maybe there will be better cash rewards? From what I can tell, missions dont look like theyre intended to make a profit but get better item rewards, I recall reading about weapon attachments...etc I'll be checking missions out for stuff like that.

I would not mind that there is not a very good monetary payout if it could get us a rare or unique item every few days, the intention after all was for daily missions so if this is the case lets say 4000 players would actively do missions every day of the week, the items won't be very unique or rare unless they required a lot of missions credits.

Yeah, maybe you need a lot to buy the prizes.

Like camel cash! I just tried to find a catalogue and couldn't :(

Looks like the government shut down camel cash because it was rewarding smoking... Tons of people got stuck with tons of camel cash that they now can't buy anything with :(

if the prizes will be hammers crowbars and 1.5k I don't think alot of people will be doing them xxD

IDK 25 energy to beat someone up for 3 credits, that's 60% of a crowbar and 1.5k, not a bad days work! Shoot that extra 1.5k can probably buy you a whole crowbar.

I really doubt that you will be able to do daily missions for a rare or unique item every few days. That is a silly conclusion. It makes more sense that it will be like education courses... where you put in your licks completing the minor missions and have a culmination of a much more challenging task that might lead to something special. What's the point of rare or unique items if one is able to get one every few days? It's got to be something one achieves because they have worked through a process.

"Some rewards could potentially have timers on them, meaning that players will only have a limited time to purchase rewards before they are replaced with different ones. This could be an interesting feature as the cost of items may vary. That could present players with a choice between purchasing the reward at a particular price or hoping that the price drops. Of course this brings with it the risk of the item vanishing and the player being forced to wait an undetermined amount of time for the item to reappear."

Personally that last sentence makes me think more along the lines of what happened with the Duel Weapons course. Perhaps one would not always have the opportunity... so perhaps it is better to get right to work on the missions instead of waiting around.

"So far we have old man George, Duke and, taking us back to the good old days, Anonymous seems set to be back in business."

Does anyone care to share the backstory on Anonymous for us noobs? Who was this person? And what did they offer?
