Hi, I don't use the forums much but today I did and well I down voted someones post and it resulted in a lot of hate towards me from multiple people.
Can someone please explain what the karma is about and why people get aggressive over it?

The merit for 1k karma is probably the best bit about the system
The forum for 5k is better

Whining. There is a great deal of it in this game. If you like whining then you are in a good place playing this game.
If you like it you should switch stealth to OFF immediately on your attacking options.
Im just putting things out into the open here in case you want to upset whiners and like their crying mails.
Maybe you could use your job points with a certain company special and reduce their happy a lot on a stat nerd where every stat is vital to them?
Maybe you could bounty them? Then claim the bounty yourself?
Mix it up a bit and the whine will flow. If you really upset them their 'friends' /multies might contribute collateral whine as well?
ie additional whine which you didnt predict at first?
Karma is how big people whom bounties no longer bother deal with e-peen.
It is interesting how people who simply signed up many years before you base their entirety of their opinion on "being better than you in real life" just because they are a higher level than you.

It appears that you stepped on someone's feelings. Throwing tantrums by bountying is a way to make their feelings feel better. When you have so little, karma is something to cherish. I'll send you some meds... just med out over and over again... they can waste their money on you. You can just have the mindset that he more money they waste the more you are worth. I on the other hand don't really have that many bounties... I am apparently worthless on that measure. Sigh....
