Torn is still a UK-based game and the rules regarding privacy are a lot better than anything that gets relayed trough (or is hosted in) the US.

I would not worry too much. Armor Games, Kongregate or Blizzard would make you run away in fear if you had actually read the terms and privacy policy. Not to mention Dropbox, Facebook or Google.

The privacy policy will not stop attackers from stealing information, considering that they are breaking the law anyway.

really doesn't matter what the privacy policy says here on torn city. there is not enough security walls to truthfully tell it's users that all your information is completely safe. nothing is private on the web.

if torn is still hosted through godaddy, then i'm sure they would have to contact their server provider to report the attack and see what can be done. godaddy does offer some security built into their hosting, but it's limited. website devs still need to take extra security measures against attacks.

i wouldn't use the same email here in torn that i use for rl banking or service providers that keep my financial info. to hell what a privacy policy says on a website. take the precautions to try to ensure all your info is somewhat safe.

What in hell do you have in your Torn bullshit that makes you feel so vulnerable? Email address? Password? Both can be changed. Get a grip, Queen Mary - it's a game.

Is it secure?

Well, I've just got off the phone with a representative from Talktalk who assures me anything and everything on the interweb IS secure!

The nice fella even had time to sell me a some software to get rid of nasty virus I apparently had!

If I have my email associated with this website and it gets "attacked" and I have my bank account associated with my email it may be something to be concerned about. You know like grown up stuff :p
Unknown_Element [450910]

if your using the same mail for a game as you are for you banking then you might want to talk to real grownups who would just go take 30 seconds to make an email just for games.
_Cynic_ [206537]

Then be a grown up and think like one.
If you are stupid enough to have the same password for everything you do on the internet then yes you are at risk,
Otherwise what can they get? an email address. Oh no they will spam the hell out of you
A password you use no-where else... yeah thats a lot of use.

If they hack this site all they get is your email address. nothing else. they do not get your bank account details from this site.
And if you are stupid enough to some how store your bank details somewhere on this site, you deserve everything you get!
