You can't yet, you need to be level 15 to fly. An area on the map opens up and allows you to go use the airport.

That was an example of pot calling kettle black
If you only log in once a day it will take ages to get to level 15. You can get there by just clicking crimes in a short amount of time try to login at least twice a day.
