Selling Bricks?

Okay, I have to ask...

I've seen people saying a decent way to make money early on is to buy 100 bricks at a time for the $5 bucks they cost at Bits 'n' Bobs and then sell em on the Item Market for no less than $100 a piece (think people have actually suggested 3-4 times that amount).

So my question is: Why would anyone buy bricks at all, let alone spend $100-plus on them when they can get them for $5? Is this just a joke among the older players, or do people really buy them off the Item Market for that amount?

In that same regard, why would anyone purchase anything at such a high mark-up on the Item Market when it can be had much cheaper at readily available locations in the game?

I can understand people marking up items you can only buy by obtaining them through traveling, but not the items you can get right away at Al's Gun Shop, the Bits 'n' Bobs store, or any of those types... same with items like clothing and what not. I just don't get it.

Anyone able to explain this, or is it as simple as hoping a newbie doesn't realize they are wasting money purchasing certain items like that at the Item Market instead of simply grabbing it from the other shops if they really want them?

Because they arent always available at bits and bobs and because even at 1k each its just easier to pay 1mil for a thousand of them than to sit there stalking bits and bobs waiting to catch some in stock.

You can only buy 100 items a day from torn shops(it is shared by all city shops).So to get extra items you have to buy from item market/bazaar.

Another thing is that only limited quantities are available at each store and you have to wait for restocking after that

And people use bricks to:

1)Attack others as it is a temporary weapon
2)To get ecofriendly merit(5000 items trashed)

I think the market for bricks isnt as much newbies as it is players who dont care about that tiny bit of cash and just find it easier to buy in bulk off the item market than 100 at a time from bits and bobs if they catch them in stock

You should be able to sell bricks 500 a pop without too much work on the market, if you put them up at 100 a pop someone is just going to buy them and then resell them for 5 times the price

Each player can buy 100 items from a shop a day, you can buy many as you want on the item market.

I don't understand why people would choose bricks for the ecofriendly merit. Bricks are temporary weapons and thus are counted as separate items. You can't dump them in a group; you gotta do it one by one, cuz each's stats are different so you can't stack them. I got that merit by dumping 5000 beers cuz they can stack and you can just dump/trash them all at once.

Temp items do stack ;p
