So... I have helped a few players wrapping their heads around how attacking works. It can be confusing, after all there are SO many variables to account for. I mean, some can be level 30, 50 or even 70. Level can vary from one age to another, someone at level 70 can be 1000 days old, while others close to 4000 days is level 1. Someone at level 1 can be stronger then someone at level 100, and someone 500 days old can be stronger then someone 3000 days old. Finding out who you can beat in a fight is hard... or is it?

There are mainly 4 things you should look at. How many attacks they have (more is better in your favor) because when they attack, they spend energy. They spend energy on attacking rather then working out in the gym. The rest of the stats you are comparing is at the bottom. The 2nd stat you are comparing is Xanax used, if they have used 1000 that means they have used (1000*250=) 250'000 energy, possibly in the gym if they don't have a lot of attacks. The 3rd thing to look out for is Energy refills, this gives them 150 energy (up to once every day) and is also a pinpointer as to how active they have been to some degree (I still count each xanax as more valuable). The last one is the time they have been donators, as this increases energy regen time and max energy by a factor of 33%. Later, once you are hitting *the tough guys* you want to look out for Booster items used. These items gives you a 1% increase in the respective stats, so someone at 100 strength will benefit less from the boosters then from Xanax, even FHC (feathery hotel coupons). When someone is actively using booster items (dumbbels, boxing gloves, parachute or skateboard) that means they benefit more from them then other items.

In order to compare stats to someone else, this is what you are looking for:

First, you want to compare attacks. As you can see here, I am clearly in favor as BodyBagger has "wasted" almost 16 times more energy on attacking compared to me.

Now in this last photo, you can see that he beats me by a rather minor percentage of xanax taken, but just over double the energy refills. When factoring in attacks made previously, I would assume I had the higher stats.

When you look at "Stat enhancers used" you can see that he... well to make it simple, he has increased his stats by 1% almost 5000 times (1000+1% =1010, 1010+1% = 1020.1) meaning he has over... (how much is +1%+1% 4797 times?) boost in stat gains.

Bonus: Some people believe that medical items (Small First Aid Kit, First Aid Kit, Morpine and Blood Bag) is just for getting out of the hospital, but you gain health when you use them. Even though you are out of the hospital, you can use medical items to gain health (Life). If you are attacking, you want to stay at max health (unless you fully understand this guide) in order to give you a final edge in a fight.

For those wondering about our stat differences, here it is...

BodyBagger [99177]
  • Strength: 12,157,489,829,381.0000 +35%
  • Defense: 302,922,739,234,110.0000 +41%
  • Speed: 1,439,827,254,857.0000 +40%
  • Dexterity: 1,441,856,263,074.0000 +46%
  • Total: 317,961,912,581,422.0000
Nobody [237547]
  • Strength: 250,369,467.6090 +23%
  • Defense: 200,009,160.0257 +29%
  • Speed: 250,033,079.9844 +31%
  • Dexterity: 200,050,696.4851 +37%
  • Total: 900,462,404.1042
Final note: I may update with group attacking in the future, including me attacking a target by my own, me and one more, as well as multiple attackers.

I want to thank BodyBagger for approving of using him as the example, as well as sharing his stats.

Possible group attacking guide in the future (this post)

Edit: Group attacking on BodyBagger has been accepted by BodyBagger. Attacking will find place in December, and I will need to find between 8-16 other players at 1B total stats at that time in order to make it a reality.

Edit 2: Request for the group attack can be found here:
http://www.torn.com/forums.php#!p=threads&f=2&t=15956163&b=0&a=0

Edit 3: Group attack not made possible due to lack of signup, possible future test with different stats/target still under consideration.

Possible chaining guide in the future (this post)

Chaining tools:
http://www.torn.com/forums.php#!p=threads&f=2&t=15910023&b=0&a=0
.

Three simple steps for extra respect:
1. Declare war on multiple factions (check members for stats, see post 1 in this thread)
2. Chain to 100 for all the bonus hits
3. Let the retaliating factions get a fighting chance, before you boost them down for a bigger respect bonus when you win. (longer fight = higher claim bonus)

Note: this is not the guide that might be coming, just adding something for the very fresh starters.

Also look at networth, a higher networth has probabky used more expensive training methods aka more stats

also i would say that in general a higher level is higher stats, but there are exceptions

R+

Networth can be deceiving, some could store most of their money in company of faction and not have it count. Others might be sheer collectors, spending all their energy on revives. Without knowing what they have invested in it is impossible to know for sure. If someone wins 5B in the lottery it does not make them any stronger. I thought about adding in "awards" on the main profile as well, but the person could have spent merits on finding items in the city, education time and whatnot.

I will note that some stock benefits will make people stronger, giving up to 1000E (or 900E unless you have insane amounts of cash) ~once a week. Others give FHC, EDVD and so on. Similarly someone could have +30% to each stat from merits. It's basically a guide for rather inexperienced players when it comes to predicting stats, I rarely miss by more then 50M (5%) when asking people. Pinpointing it even closer takes too much time to be worth the risk if you ask me. Hell, people who have attacked me with 1.2B (33% more then me at the time) have lost to me oO

Appreciate the heads up, not going to change anything due to the oh so many factors =)

hmmm Great guide, especially for people who are new so R+, as that's who guides - usually - are there for
Chuckyboy2 [1875579]

Good guide. Some other things that I've found helpful is looking at hunting stats (lots of water e there), awards is very good indicator of activity, crimes/busts can also show some important details like high buster low stated player. These are all secondary things to look at but tell a picture as well.
Jorgy411 [145507]

Nice post. I do this same method when determining if I should attack someone or not. Although, I also figure in how many defends they have. To me, if i see a large amount of defends won vs loss, I know they have a decent amount of stats. or at the very least they've paid someone to slut on them. Either way, thats important information for me to make note of when I go to attack them. One other thing I look at is their activity level. If they have a large amount of hours logged, it tells me that they train more often the normal players (if their total attacks are somewhat low).
Tempest [1867527] Wiki Contributor

Agreed on both counts

I normally look at these:
  1. Xanax Taken
  2. Refils
  3. Time Played
  4. Defends Won/Stalemates
  5. Title
Wulfric [1767972]

I think everyone has their own system, and there are always accounts that buck the apparent numbers and are far stronger / weaker than you might assume.

Personally, the first thing I look at is before I even get to their stat page; how many awards do they have? If they have a huge number relative to me, I will usually not even look at their stats.

After that, it's xanax, refills, activity. And also, how many merits they have bought, as a measure of how 'serious' they are.

Title can be misleading, and I am not even sure how I could use it to make a decision on targets. I am Tycoon, but I rarely have over a million on me and my stats are pretty decent for 800 days - it's not like I have neglected them in my never ending quest for dollars :-)
Grif [882958]

problem with xanax counting is BB probably has alot of pre-stats xanax so its not a minor difference probably a difference of about 3k

The_Totem [1763443]

There r a few things the post didn't account for:

- Life (not the most important, but it should still be accounted for)

- Awards (merit reasons)

- Merits bought (same as above + possibly predicts networth)

- User titles (this is especially important, if they have the title "Healer." But, do not underestimate completely, even if they're called "Healer")

- LSD (not as good as Xanax, but should still be taken as a factor)

- "Days been a donator" (I don't think I need to explain this one)

- Are they currently a donor?

- Last action (date)

- "People revived" (this would give a better idea on how much E they wasted)

- Faction (this kinda matters when the faction is a powerful one. How long were they, in this faction?)

- Property (training reasons)
Nobody [237547]

As I stated earlier in this thread, I won't include all the possible factors in my guide. Look at the basics, and if you got all day you can factor in all the possible scenarios of everything. If I made a list of all the comparisons one could make, this would not have been a very good guide for rather new players, would it? At some point it's just easier to hire a spy to check their stats.

New players see the stats as alien at first, and some doesn't even know it's there. When they find it and see a wall of text, not even knowing what drugs are, I believe it's best to point them at the first factors they should get to understand from day 1. Again, not going to explain what each listed item in "statistics" is. Simple, quick and easy to understand, and easy to build on with experience.

Also, titles can be misleading depending on the rest of their statistics...
lickdapoo [1827223]

Id look at xtc too..especially as it can be an indicator of how serious someone took their training early on. (High xtc count, double happy trains)
Venomous [1805486]

Good guide R+ but what I hate is when I see someone who has low defends and attacks, hardly any drugs used, no army spies done (another important factor when deciding to attack someone) and has hardly any refills hits me in the balls for a gazillion damage.
ZOMB13 [1795241]

I don't know if it has been mentioned(haven't read all replies) but looking at crimes is also useful coz if they've done a lot of crimes such as fraud they've most likely also trained a lot when logging in to do the crimes so signify more energy used in the gym.
dunmugmeh [538353]

looking at your stat page you look like you have bad combat stats. low drug usage, high attacks made nearly half of mine and i have been playing for about 8 years, few energy refills.

you will be cannon fodder for anyone who has been logging in everyday for 4 or 5 years and clicks the gym a couple of times a day even if they dont use drugs.
Venomous [1805486]

I was inactive for a year and i chain regularly unfortunately so yeah my stats are pretty shit tbh. but Im training now so they will improve
