This is a very simple suggestion and it's been done before. Please make it so when you reply to a thread that the "Subscribe to this thread" box is already checked. Most of the time, people will want to come back to that thread. If I don't check that box, I don't get an alert in the "My Threads" sidebar saying when someone's replied.

Thanks for your consideration.

If you're saying that every time you reply to a thread you should be subscribed that is ridiculous... You're not very active in the forums for the most part but for those of us that are this would just be a huge pain in the ass... Our subscription feed would be pointlessly filled when we actively browse the forums anyway.

use the subscription feed like a bookmark, for reference posts or things like your faction recruiting thread... You can always see in your feed when someone quotes or votes a post of yours anyway

As a counter-suggestion, rename "Subscribe to Thread" to "Make Favorite Thread" or something a bit more specific?

I apologize for being a lazy American and not wanting to have to remember which boards certain threads are linked in all the time. :P

Otherwise, it makes it seem like other forums where you literally have to click that button if you ever want to see that thread again. Torn is a very busy forum. You could go to sleep and literally lose track of a thread you replied to that night because there are about thirty new posts in that forum alone and double that number in your feed for threads you HAVE already subscribed to.

Am I the only person who has a very hard time keeping track of threads without clicking the Subscribe button?

If you are involved in the convo, often there will be quotes and rates in your feed already.

And besides that, all of your posts are already located in your profile if you want to take a look.
