when looking for an item in the city you can just highlight the map with your courser revealing all the items at ease. I believe this was not intended and allows layers to easily discover items. It shows the items at a darker shade of blue than the highlight.

i got a Boxing Gloves from the city and when i went to sell it and when i took the items the boxing gloves is not there :( please help me with this
I doubt this would be considered a bug, seeing as scripts making searching the city far easier. It may not have been intended, but hardly game breaking.
It's not intended, but not a big deal at the moment. We're working on the new map system where this actually doesn't appear to be possible anymore.
