Usually you get something if you do a certain activity a lot, more so than you do anything else.
The only merits you have right now are networth, 6 of them to be exact, so tycoon makes sense being the title you've unlocked.
If you want some other stuff, failing a lot of crimes will get you felon, lots of one hit kills will get you one hit killer, lots of stalemates will get you tank and etc.
In other words, spend less time investing and more time doing other stuff, eventually your title will change when you get further into something than you are in networth right now.
Basically, each player is ranked on certain stats. Only x amount of players are able to attain a certain title at any given point, so what's happened here is that someone else had beat you in the stat for tycoon, meaning you've since been purged off. You've now reverted to your next highest ranking stat that will grant you a title.
In order to re-obtain this you will need to do what's necessary to get the title back and take over someone else who has it, their title will then change to something else and your back to tycoon.
My title flickers between egotist / intimidator.
