The other day when I went to mug a player, I knew to swap from a brick as my temporary to a grenade or one of the others. I had 407 bricks when I equipped my Grenade, initiated my attack and completed it. When I went to re-equip my brick, all 407 of them had vanished like they had never existed..
Is this a common issue or beyond uncommon as it is a first for me....
It would be shortly before or shortly after the system would have awarded my merit "Couch Potato" which was credited to my account. As mentioned above I changed the temporary item from brick to grenade as the active. Still had my bricks going in to the attack with zowieso [1304244] whom I learned about from the mission "Peak Experience" and now do so for sport. However, when I went to re-equip my brick as my active temporary item... they were just... gone.
I hope that is slightly more useful, I didnt think to take screen caps as i never expected such an issue to occur.
Are you certain you had 407 bricks? I'm looking through the logs and can't see what might have happened to them. When did you buy these bricks, from where?
Many of the bricks I have been picking up for the past several years, may be the 407 on grenades screwing up my numbers. Means I could have only had just over 100-150 bricks that vanished. A lot of bricks I picked up in dump searches, random city finds.
If I knew what possibly happened to the bricks, I'd not have submitted this report.
Besides, if I was trying to cheat the system for free shit, do you honestly think a brick would be my concern?? I just want back the items lost, nothing more or less.

I'm not sure how much more we can do here. I've still to this day never heard of a bunch of items just vanishing for no apparent reason. I'm not saying you're lying, but perhaps you were mistaking 407 bricks for the grenades that you have.
