what i was led to believe. i played another game for 4 years that i was told Torn copied. In fact, just the mention of Torn on their MB got you MB banned for up to indefinite periods of time, based on your game wide notoriety.
But now that i'm here and have played for a few days, Torn is nothing like that game at all. Besides the standard text based online game template, they are two entirely different games. Different strategies, different paths, different displays, different items, different everything.
Is "that" game even allowed to be mentioned here?
i'm pretty sure many know to which game i refer, just in case i can't type the name.
My point is, after seeing how different they are, the owner of "that" game seems to be acting rather silly about this. :yes:
i dont play clone games i dont see the point all the games i play are different to each other. but i believe this game used to be more like that game you are talking about but this game changed.
i stopped playing anyhow. One of the game staff became the leader of our gang and promptly sat on his fat duff thinking it would run itself. i spent years helping make that gang what is is, even spent hundreds of RL $$$ to advance it and eventually be recognized as "leader" only for him to get elected leader and ruin it all. i couldn't sit around and watch him destroy what i had built. And the rest of the gang members were blinded by his game rep to see that he was a terrible leader. So he's been playing 10 years and is game staff, so what, doesn't automatically mean you're capable of running a gang. We were the #2 gang in the game and he literally said to me "We will never beat them" referring to the #1 gang. If that itself doesn't say "That guy is not a leader" i don't know what does. Oh well, goodbye old game, hello Torn!
Besides that and an extremely low-key zombie BBMMO, I've not explored very many online games. It's also worth noting that Torn's the only one I still play.
Are we only prohibited from discussing rival games (being more-or-less of the same genre/format), or are all BBMMOs off-limits?
