Just wonder, we can crashed our car from a race, why we don't have plane crash accident? Those who rent/own a pi, your plane might crash and you will be throw to some country's hospital for few hours. Or those who fly without a pi, the plane looks big enough to carry lots of passengers, may be the olane can crash and everyone is thrown to different country's hospital depends on luck?

I know plane crash is horrible in real world, but its torn.

Because we hire professional pilots to fly them for us, rather than our own uneducated/drunk/high asses...

Leave your faction, start your own one, make your money flower running, fight off rivals as you can, potentially lose your territory in the upcoming update (to be honest i dont quite understand how new factions will work) and have the risk of losing hours due to even more muggings/hospitalizations.

Fantastic idea, you do it first.

But plane accident did occur in real life. And you can always pay for revive. I do agree it lead to more hosp time but you crashed your car, you do get hosp.

I'm pretty sure that flying is the safest form of travel there is? Whilst racing car accidents are probably pretty common.

Also flying for multiple hours a day sucks enough without the chance of random hospitalisations.

But its unlikely you always get the plane crash right? They are professional pilot and even in real life, the plane accidents are lot more lesser compare to car accident. But still, there is a chance don't you agree? Even when you walking cautiously, you may tripped yourself. So why don't occasionally let the plane crash in torn? It will be more realistic imo.

Its torn. Even when a db is dropped, no one died. Why would you die from plane crash in torn? Even someone give you a head shot in fights and you still can't die. Didn't make sense to me to die in a plane crash.
palmpalm [1960347]

If its so, everyone will die in a fight. Lol. But when you think of it, don't revive means revive someone from the dead? All we get is revive someone out of hosp. They still alive, why need a revive? But we don't get the option tho. Just leave, mug and hosp. There will be a 'die' option and a graveyard. So we can 'revive' the people who died in fight.

I think that it could be an interesting idea. Just like in real life, certainty makes it boring for a game. When you always know what will happen, there seems to be less magic.

Drugs have OD%
Cars have crash%
Supply packs have specific item%
Lot of awards and honorbars are based on luck and randomness.

Even the combat system got revamped to have more random effect. It used to be black or white, fight would end whoever hit 1st. Now, there is a wider grey area, fights are entertaining. I won against ppl that dwarf my stats and lost to those who had less than me. But it makes it exciting. Just because of high stat difference, it doesn't mean they will hit you 100% or dodge 100% of your hits, but it will be somewhere near there...

Even runaways now have a %succes regardless of stats.

Bottom line is that random events add fun and mystery to the game called torn. It distinguishes it from all the other generic text based crime games where x action gets y result. At the end of the day, I think that is what makes torn so great, it keeps finding new waya to make the same old mundane daily tasks seem fresh and interesting.

Sure: it will be unfun to get stuck in hospital, but it will only make you appreciate not being in hospital more. The only time that happens is usually when med cooldown is maxed.

Sure: it will suck for botters, people on a tight schedule or those that depend on importing items, but it wouldn't happen very often, not the end of the world. In my whole racing career on torn, I crashed 2 or 3 times... It is barely worth mentioning at all. But I do remember that I was like: oh, I crashed... cool, thats new...

Some of the most vocal people against this are those that travel a lot, I remember their names from overseas. Sadly, they just see how the potential update would affect them and what they have to lose instead of focusing on the bigger picture. I'm a pretty active traveler too, I understand that this would mean that I could endup in hospital, but seriously it would be an interesting event.

Maybe even have a special honorbar 'I survived planecrash' or 'sole survivor'. It would encourage people to travel and keep giving old timers new things to achieve, like the elusive Cannabis OD...

Nice suggestion dude, keep working on it and don't mind the shortsighted whiners.

This is like a few other threads going around. This is not real or suppose to be real or even make sense its a game and adding random shit is just that random ideas from mostly newer players. Not rating down but i want me 2 mins back for reading and then replying to this. Egg on my face....
Venko [741841]

No disrespect towards you, but I feel that a fresh pair of eyes can contribute ideas that haven't been considered before. Sort of a 'out of the box' thinking. Some big companies pay random people to just come in and give them a random suggestion or the perspective of someone from the outside.

Obviously Torn is not meant to mirror real life but instead mimic it in a way to make you feel that you are living an alternate life at a place called Torn which is in cyberspace. You go to school, get jobs, pay rent, get married, get a dog, travel the world, drop bombs, smuggle drugs, have wars, hunt for bounties, explore xmas town and hallow town, etc... A place where you can be whoever you want to be...
