But the VIP, donator, fun and games and several more are useful? There was no reason to reset those players karma. No reason, start from today as day one to be implemented. So please tell me one thread in the VIP section has merit and not karma farming? Just one that was posted earlier.
If you can prove to me it actually had value, then yea maybe. But from what I have seen its 99 percent garbage. At least the traveler threads had useful information.

What makes you think the VIP forum actually adds to your karma total? Did you try it? Did you have anyone else try it? We went around in circles on the best way to deal with 'insignificant posts' and ultimately decided on this tool, as a large percentage of the karma was only coming from those 2 threads anyway.
Pointless update. It wasted time and resources that could have been use elsewhere.
I think people got upset about how easy it was to mine karma in the travel threads. So the committee voted on it, and decided to remove the karma gained from the travel thread. It's like the US presidential election going on right now, sometimes the choice you are presented with is not what you were looking for.
An admin tool was created to strip karma gains (and block future karma) on the 'Travel thread' and 'Plushie thread', this tool can also be used on other threads in the future when required.

I love the butthurt posts, karma is useless anyways. It serves no real purpose and was one of the worst recent updates since respo in this game.
People need to get a life and realize a random number beside there forum posts doesn't make them more popular in a online text game, no one really cares how much karma you have except for yourselves.
That is a open ended question, that does not work on a retired investigator. Answer your own question, does it? I would assume the answer is yes. Or you would have posted it did.
Those 2 threads were examined because 95% of your committee members are in the VIP section. They are not going to do anything that is the "right" thing that will effect them. No, lets pick on the travelers who wish to gain karma and not deal with all of the trolls.

I've worked behind the scenes long enough that i know what i can and cannot say. I choose not to reveal information because it's more fun to have others figure it out.
Did you ever consider the fact that maybe we're on the committee and have high karma (by coincidence) because we post content that matters and that people find useful? Or because we contribute to the community as a whole, even through the masses of trolls? I honestly don't even pay attention to the VIP forum, because it's a bigger troll fest than any sub forum you could imagine. So no, it's not about benefiting myself. It's clearly to keep you down and out of my 'precious' forum that i care so deeply about.

But truth is, the excitement of reaching 1k karma ended mere hours after achieving it.
Would be nice to see some more rewards for 1k karma to actually drive more people to aim for it.

Most of the time it's pretty quiet until MB starts another thread and the others just have to mention what they think about the thread/him.

Just clicked through the profiles of the people that voted. 42% have over 1k karma.
In your weird made-up world, maybe 42% is 95%, but in mine... It isn't.
And even more to your point, no, very few people on the committee post in VIP. So even if the VIP board gave karma the huge majority of the committee wouldn't be affected.
And look at things before making wild assertions, k?
Can we just get the committee to remove the Vip forum and give nothing for having lots of karma then maybe people will stop caring about it and actually use the karma system for whatever you had visioned for it to begin with. The farming only started to begin with because they wanted to see what was in the vip thread.
Surely in tutorials & guides as well, they both have high ratio of good threads and posts.
