So who determines what is "useful"? I found people who posted flower/plushie information to be very useful since I was running them at the time.

I voted yes, just not in the public poll for the record. Karma farming is stupid. I actually asked for measures beyond what was implemented. My ideas involved important key changes like removing all Karma from Styx.

So, what actually happens to the R+ rated mentions on the Flower thread now??? Do all R+ ratings have zero effect on the owners Karma rating??

It's similar to how the private faction forums work, it just doesn't add to your total :)

posts can only count towards your karma if they are longer than 30 characters, so those actually don't count, usually..

You all need to pace yourself so you can still work up a good lather when you can't spend your respect how you want to right away.

The staff and committee have been involved in discussions regarding forum karma for a while now. It was decided that for karma to remain relevant, action needed to be taken on certain threads where karma was being received via farming rather than for quality content.

An admin tool was created to strip karma gains (and block future karma) on the 'Travel thread' and 'Plushie thread', this tool can also be used on other threads in the future when required.

Sorry to those who feel this is unfair, but I think most can agree this is the correct course of action to ensure karma has some purpose, and only given to those who bring quality content to Torn's forums.

So basically you and the committie get to decide what is concoidered a useful thread or post? What a crock of shit. Its rediculas that someone else can decide what I value as a good post. These same people have been bitching in the forums and in the sacred VIP shit forum for ever now and they finally cried enough about other peoples posts enough to draw attention to the so called problem.



Why is it that MarlonBrando can fill the forum with worthles threads time and time again threads filled with nothing but spam and meme's that have no value at all and yet his post are Valued. But someone posting information for the actual benafit of other players is concedered "Farming". This is one of the most stupid things I've ever seen in this game.

People post a smart ass remark and get tons of Karma for it and this is valued more then a post letting other players know weather or not its worth it to travel is not? WTF These same people that complain about Karma farming and how karma should only be given for posts that contribute to the game get 95% of there Karma for posting virtually nothing more then Bite me or some other bullshit post.

Its rediculas to let 20 or so Committee members and staff members define what is a valude post to other. Post Value is directly relavent to who is post and who is affected by it.

IT'S NOT!!!!!!!!!! For all those questions. A highly rated thread good or bad is useful to see but really why does anyone care about karma. Who cares about some exclusive forum there is no merit or anything worth while.
