With this forum having more "Last post" "Word game" threads I thought i might add something different.
This is gonna be a simple game, im gonna leave it at that.
Rules:
-No god-modding! This means you are being over powered and stuff.
-Be nice!
This is how its gonna work.
My role is going to be the 'omnipotent alien' watching you guys :P I will of course be the 'DM' of this game and slightly affect what happens. I shall control a bunch of other species to add diversity.
You are in charge of your own cell like species, you start in the ocean and begin to move up (or down)
Every official post I make - you guys get 3 points to upgrade your species. With these points you shape your species into the what you want them to be. You will post what your species do but I will decide the outcome based on your species stats. I will also role dice for the probable outcomes, different sided dice for different situations using https://www.wizards.com/dnd/dice/dice.htm. NOTE: ONLY I WILL ROLE!
The planet inhibited is 80% water, with rough rainforest like land. Goal of the game, well you decide :)
Mail me your species sheet, you get 10 points to spend on the stats:
Species Name:
Optical Detection:
Chemical Detection:
Intelligence:
Offense: (either poison, keratin spikes, or a maximum of 2 tentacles)
Defense: (either hard outer membrane, inner poison, or 2 added points to mobility [extra])
Mobility:

Example Sheet:
Species Name: Evil Worm (idk about name ;)
Optical Detection: 3
Chemical Detection: 1
Intelligence: 5
Offense: 2 tentacles
Defense: +2 Mobility
Mobility: 3 (1 from the 10 points, 2 from defense)

We will start once we get 5 players. Just want this to be a fun game for everyone, eventually the cells will evolve into bigger stuffs. Please MAIL me your sheet first then I will update the species index as the game goes on. Post your upgrades and commands as we start, like +3 intelligence or "cells form a ranking system based on ruthlessness" keep in mind some commands will require higher stats for success.

And the first cells emerge! Able to look in the distance of the murky water, these microscopes begin hunting with their keratin extrusions and hard outer shells. A true power house. Due to increased intelligence, the average speed hunters travel in small clusters.
Mikey_Myers [1869381]

And the KuroSentinals form. Already possessing above average intelligence, they prowl the dark, bacteria filled bottoms of the ocean. With their advanced minds and complex anatomy, they form a toxin underneath their skin, to dissuade predators from attacking. They must catch larger prey, so they develop tentacles, two, to grab, and move, and strangle their prey. They wait, and watch the world around them with their calculating aquatic mind.
Mikey_Myers [1869381]

Oh, we already can upgrade? Hmm. The KuroSentinals seemed to be doing rather well. Their intelligence and memory of past endeavors helped them avoid the poisonous prey and bacteria they could not sense. Call it instinct, call it psychic power, the KuroSentinals had access to a higher form of Knowledge. +3 to intelligence.
Xynthexyz [1985544]

Hm...the xynthexyzers seem to be lacking in intelligence, their only strength is ramming into people...after having many less intelligent bacteria ram into them and die instantly, the xynthexyzers learned from them. +2 to intell

They also semms to be lcaking in speed, if they were faster they could hunt instead of wait for prey to suicide into them. +1 to agility
Evil_Wabbit [1908299]

OFFICIAL POST!
Dice outcomes for upgrades (D10):
KuroSentinals: 3
The intelligent species would get a minor buff into their intelligence, +1 but this still keeps them at the highest peak of intelligence in the dark, murky water.
Xynthesizers (that name though :D): 7
The Xynthesizers intelligence spiral higher but they stay the same speed. +2 Intelligence.
Until I make 2 more official posts, all your posts are commands now, not upgrades.

TABLE IS UPDATED!
DogHead [1742498]
Species Name:Circon
Optical Detection: 2
Chemical Detection:1
Intelligence: 7
Offense: 2 Tentacles
Defense: Thin Skinned (no defense)
Mobility: 2 (from defense)
A new species enters the dark sea, at the deepest depths near the sea floor. This species started out near super-heated vents on the sea floor. They are not high on the food chain, but are elusive to any predators that attack. Mostly feeding on small particles and bacteria, the Circon start their life as a small species, relying on sophisticated tactics to survive and thrive.
DogHead [1742498]

Figured this would be easier... Should I do an initial upgrade (3 points)? If so...

The circon slowly reached the point where it moved away from these deep-sea vents towards a point in the ocean where the sun's energy started to reach.

UPGRADE: +2 to intelligence, +1 to optical detection
Mikey_Myers [1869381]
The KuroSentinals developed better ways to trap prey. They would wait in the dark, for others to come looking for them. They would ambush, confuse and trap their prey. With their planning, any other predator trying to attack them would be met with retaliation.
Xynthexyz [1985544]

The xynthexyzers, with their inproved intelligence, now search for easy targets with its superior chemical detection. When it finds a target, it retracts its spikes and plays dead, waiting for their prey to come nearby. They prey comes near, thinking the xynthexyzer is merely dead food, and is impaled by the sudden spikes.
Evil_Wabbit [1908299]

Gonna do 2 roles:
1 for stats and the other for survival on the surface.
D10 for stats:
You got 2. The Circon got a minor buff to their intelligence +1.
D20 for survival on surface:
You got 9. The Circon had slowly made it to the surface but they attracted predators. Their tentacles were pointless and their thin skin was a liability. But due to their speed, the manage to escape.
Choices:
1 - Risk them and stay
2 - Go back down
DogHead [1742498]

The Circon began to struggle with predators in the more populated open ocean. On the sea-bed, there were very few predators, and the Circon could use confusion and deception to avoid almost all deaths from the rare few that existed, and their relatively high visibility in that area was useful as well. Now, it was much easier to see what was happening around them, and their deceptive techniques to avoid prey still could work successfully, but their low mobility made these techniques more difficult to pull off. This was especially true considering the quicker predators in the open ocean (fortunately most hadn't adjusted to a Circon diet yet though).

Clearly, if this species was to survive, the quicker genes would have to be the ones that got passed on, or it would need to return to the depths. Its high intelligence would not be enough alone to survive up here, but it would keep the species alive if it could develop more mobility. However, the safer option is to return to the depths.

The Circon, being a quickly improving species intellectually, decided the best option for themselves would be to split their species to both habitats, allowing the more beneficial habitat to allow for its survival, regardless of whether the mid-sea species survives or not. So, the Circon-Depth began its long journey back to the ocean floor, while Circon-C remained in the mid-ocean.
Xynthexyz [1985544]

to make use of the xynthexyzers optical detection, the xynthexyzers move closer to the surface, allowing them so see as well as sense other prey and predators. all of a sudden, many cells that couldnt be sensed with purely chemical detection were visible to the xynthexyzers.
Mikey_Myers [1869381]
The KuroSentinals thrived in the cold dark places. It did not need light or heat to survive. The few predators that could challenge it were met with poison flesh when attacking, and whipping and constricting tentacles. It would stay in the dark, and as always, let the foolish and the weak come to it. Or surprise the competent and strong.
Xynthexyz [1985544]

the xynthexyzers have developed a new tactic! they travel in small clusters, surround their prey and trap them in a spiky jail. then they close in, poking their prey to death and sharing the spoils.
