There are things in this world that are truly awesome.
This thread is meant to discuss what powers you could theoreticly get like flight and invisability.
Have fun.

Flight.. Well how would you be even able to get off the ground.. Even with wings you'd weigh to much. Our bodies aren't built to fly, and if someone some how managed to receive a physics defying ability such as flying, How would one even be able to control it, Whats to prevent a person from crashing into a tree or a building etc.

Invisibility. Well physical problems aside, How could someone even live like that? What if you tried to shave.. You'd probably fall down stairs because you couldn't see your feet, And etc. If its suggested its an on/off thing, That causes more problems as how is that even possible. Also, I'm presuming by invisibility you mean complete invisibility, Well light wouldn't be able to travel through a human body, And it also won't bend, So its pretty much impossible, The closest you could come to is reflecting light, But i'm pretty sure that would be virtually useless in most situations. As "Hey look at that not at all suspicous looking mirror like thing".

with flight i was thinking more jetpacks and such rather than a biological abillity and we technology that allows us to be hidden.
just google that shit

Jetpacks need fuel, And eventually you'd run out to a very long/short fall.

And theres a difference between invisibility and hiding.. Even using modern tech, true invisibility shouldn't exist..

I'm only really making my point, Because its fun and i can.

Immortality like the immortal jellyfish (Turritopsis dohrnii)? Though I suppose this could be impractical if cell reversion reverts brain cells and you lose memory.

Flight could be possible with wings and hollow bones I'm sure, but I am not going to worry about specifics and whatnot. I just said possible. Though you would be very susceptible to injury and you have huge wings sticking out from your sides.

Invisibility. Perhaps your cells react to light in such a way that your skin produces an identical light from the opposite end of your body to act like the light was never broken? Super far fetched but I like the idea. And impractical I would imagine, though if your skin produced light I feel it's safe to say you were born with the ability to turn it off. Perhaps not. Wear clothes? Then you would just look freaky. This is a no win situation.

Foresight (seeing the future) Let's imagine that all of our senses are actually delayed, or that the world itself is delayed. Perhaps our subject's reaction time is in realtime. They would have several seconds to react faster than others. This could lead to super speed as well. I'm sure you can see several issues with this, such as reacting too fast to people (practice makes perfect though).

Climbing walls. Your sweat is crazy adhesive. Bad idea if you wear clothes. Maybe it wears off when it dries? Bad idea if you're climbing and you dry up.

Immunity to poison. Faster and incredibly smart immune system perhaps. This one feels like the most logical I can think of, but it isn't too great of a power.

No fear. People like this exist and they do some crazy things. Perhaps not a power but you'd be able to do things others can't do.

Berserker physique and mentality is considered a super power and it actually existed. Still does in many. It gives immense strength and speed and the berserker becomes nigh invulnerable to any melee weapon damage. Sometimes can be achieved under the influence of certain drugs like PCP, cocaine, etc.

We can see in Ultra Violet part of the electromagnetic spectrum, once the lenses are removed from our eyes. It wouldn't be true UV, but quite close.

Super-speed is possible, humans can be capable of running well over 50mph. Almost double the current fastest man alive.

Many people have similar to what can be labeled as echolocation. Especially blind people. Even seeing individuals can gain that ability overtime.

Many have precognition too. It's not psychic, it's just perfect calculations which allow the brain to predict certain events in their life.

Then there's the ability to withstand subzero temperatures.

Replacing heart with a machine that does it's job means you don't get tired easily. But i think that's in the science fiction category for now.

There are a few more superpowers in real life that are not only possible, but exist.
Livinglife [1969899]

There is the medical condition which you cant feel pain (Ashlyn) In a way its a realistic superpower but on the down side it must be horrible... pain tells us something is wrong.... e.g Burning yourself, these people with the rare condidtion wouldn't know a thing and just carry on...
Jobby [1640111]

..I actually have the ability to 'half poop' and suck it back in and get on with my day, I class this as a superpower
Nine [1463956]

i can make one muscle of my body spas out like a super saiyan..it has 10x the power then as in normal condition
AmadeusRex [1997354]

We actually already have that. It's called Congenital Analgesia (or CIP) and it's a very serious disorder because unless you have invulnerability to back it up, your body is still getting torn up and you just can't tell. I think the most used example is if you lean on the stove not knowing it's on, your hand will be burnt useless and you'll only realize it once you can smell it.
Foggy [939739]

Be careful with that super power, it's said to beknown to cause hair to grow on your palms and develope the popeye masive forearm muscle syndrome
