After the vote out of the EU i hear other members may do a vote as well. If EU was that....great. ... We all wouldn't have anyone in EU talking about it. If fear off standing alone been broken others will follow.
The one thing al always remember from ma f**kin high school history teacher (a brit nat), when discussing the russian revolution is this... they knew they'd probably end up poorer in the short term, but when it comes down to it would you really rather have a tiny bit more moula or freedom? a tiny bit more moula or control of yer country? a tiny bit more moula of f**kin ideals and equality? Always felt the bastards that answer money are exactly that, selfish bastards. ad rather vote for sumfin a believed in an live like a peasant than be a c**t an sit in ma ivory tower sippin champagne n lighting cigars with money.
You can spin it however you want but thats the undeniable truth of it, an a no plenty ae poor people, dirt poor, single mother wae weans they can barely afford tae feed that would agree wi me. its tha middle class delusion an nuffin more. england aint changed a bit since the day of engels, he had yer number then an he has it now, an thats why nothin good will ever emerge from tha english empire, while its livin or dead.
if Scotland wants to be free to make its own choices it should be able to. there doesn't have to be a right and wrong. if the people there feel like their opinions are ignored and their choices restricted they should do something about it.
you cant support Brexit and not support Scottish independence if that's truly what the Scots want. if they want to break free from the UK and be on their own or join the EU that should be supported by anyone who believes in freedom.
if the kiddies dont know what that means it is from the time when rap music sounded good. really good. long before the emimens etc made rap music so bland and boring.
Since the vote where we promised Scotland 'If you stay, we'll represent what you want and shit' we've voted in a government that they were staunchly against and now voted to leave the European Union that they were staunchly for staying. If that doesn't make a country feel powerless to decide its own fate, I don't know what will.
Let them have another vote. We haven't stuck to our promise to them. Good luck to them.
Another thread had a video of a MEP not able to record accurately what is written. No electronics to record, not allowed to accurately write down - sounds some serious bs going on.
to be fair I might jump to Zululand rather than have an unelected Boris Johnson (or any of the other runners) in charge of England.
Where do you stand Limetree? Genuinely curious to hear the other side of this because I just don't get it. I agree with Dun that the EU is bloated and the leaving it has hurt our economy and will continue to. I also think that just because there are badly executed parts of a good idea doesn't mean we should go with a bad idea. I don't really understand what we gain from leaving?
I voted remain. It was a decision made in the knowledge that if England voted leave, we would have an excellent chance of a second indyref.
Is the EU good? No. Is a Tory government and a mass shift to the far right among the English electorate going to be any better for the English working class? No. If there was a socialist government in the UK, or even the chance that one could emerge I would have advocated voting leave. As it is, things are going to get a lot worse down there.
oddly enough that speech made me like Nigel Farage.
He said a lot of truths about the EU, it is nice to have a politician speak so openly to rivals and know he is outnumbered but still give them a good two fingers up to them - it would have made me cheer him openly if he really did stick two fingers up at them.
taking that one thing he said to get the rooms attention and to let them know how many 'ordinary' people feel and not put other parts of the speech seems a bit nit picky. He was not accurate about everything, but sure does speak a lot straighter than many others world over.
Now talking of people being in Russia's bad books, lets take on board a certain Chechen chap who was welcomed by the EU and was regularly jailed for arms possession / terrorist activities for past ten + years in different countries...the freedom of movement worked real well for him.
