Currently we can only use items like boosters and meds one at a time.

It's not too big a deal, but it would be great to be able to consume more than 1 at a time, which would be especially helpful for slow devices or connections.

Here's what it could look like:

If the booster/med cooldown has not been reached but the amount entered exceeds it, it could display a message like so:
(For example, the user has no booster cooldown and chooses to drink 25 bottles of beer, which exceeds the max cooldown.)

no, simply because there is a maximum cooldown

but if you suggest that it does what it does, but untill max cooldown, then yep

imagine this, every bottle of beer = 30 mins of cooldown

so in 24 hour max cooldown u can only have 48 beers in one go.

lets say I type in '50' beers all in one go. this goes above 24 hours

A few years ago - pre Respo, there used to be an extension that allowed to use multiple items at once. You could ask it to use whatever amount of items. It basically bypassed the confirmation stages and let you use as many items as you could use until:
  1. you'd reached max cool down
  2. you no longer needed to use more of that item (used 15 sfaks to get out of hospital)
  3. you had no more of that item in your items page
  4. the initial number of items asked to be used, were used successfully
There are multiple ways to allow multiple items to be used at once without breaking the game (bypassing the max cd, using more items than you own, etc.) .

It's possible, it's needed, R+

The image I get from this is one poor guy trying to drink 15 bottles of beer at the same time..
Glug glug glug.

Well obviously you would be blocked from doing that. The devs aren't idiots.

Why, under any circumstance, would that slip by the system?

Being someone that uses 48x lollipops & 1 DVD for training, my index finger ends up numb ;(... Nah but seriously, having to click so much is a pain in the ass...
