There were warnings that popped up notifying you that the teams were nearly full. If all 4 of your teams are full, then unfortunately you're SoL.

"Once all teams are full, that's it, you can't enter the competition.
The team selection process had to be made in a very particular way to prevent exploiting / over-powered teaming up."

I still see there's room left in the Pink Power and Knitting Circle.. also a little bit of room left in Short Bus too.

I'd think that if all 4 options originally given to you are full, another random one that isn't full should be given instead.

Not sure where you see this unless you just mean the options available to you in which case there's still space even though it's almost closed.

That said it was designed very intentionally for balance to prevent teams from being over or under stacked based on user activity as well as to prevent power stacking on one team. Once the first teams started filling it should have been a pretty clear clue to active players to get off their asses.

Basically limited options helped prevent what people waiting forever to join were trying to do, figure out the strongest team and join it. Limited time to join, limited space (though barely based on active users), and limited team selection. People that didn't see the writing on the wall when teams started filling have only themselves to blame. This is still by far going to be the best setup this competition has ever seen.

Never wait till the last minute when so many wanted to join... otherwise, you get nothing but a Willy Wonka one-liner!

I'm active duty so I get like 4 hours free time a day and that's for sleeping. Can't make this game my life but I like to play when I can. Guess Ched doesn't feel the same way.

Yup SoL. The game keeps getting more and more; less good. Not your fault I know but I'm getting why 20,000 people dropped this game like a sack of potatoes >.<

Well based on the final numbers that's pretty much what happened. 5/12 teams didn't fill, one had a ton of space. It'd be very uncommon for anyone to have been completely bumped out, and after 3 closed if they didn't join the 4th it's really on them.
