Chess was released years ago after being teased in the casino for years.
Then it didn't follow the rest of the site into the future and eventually died.
Part of the problem is that Chedburn wanted to make it a Casino game where people bet money on the matches.
When It really should have just been something to do for fun.
A few months ago someone posted a link to a chess attachment through torn, if you do a forum search you might find it. Its not easy to find otherwise and if i wasnt on mobile I would see if i could track it down.
I found it, its titled "chess" in Q&A but the link to access chess appears to be dead, or atleast unused by most users. An admin said they were phasing it out in 2015 because it wasnt technically gambling.

Chess caused lagged so they removed it..
The link for chess was removed, the actual feature is still supported in the game (someone else will need to link you since I don't have it)

i played chess a bit. sometimes the screen would just freak out and not update meaning you would lose the match.
so im guessing mega lag was the reason it was removed.
