It's actually SA/FTW v DA, JFK, JFK 2.1, JFA, mnc, mac n cheese, PT-I, PT & a DB
that all being in, we have gained ground since the bomb and continue to watch the above waste e attacking us, double teaming us, triple teaming etc In a poor attempt to keep us off the hill
i am actually having fun for the first time in ages, so thank you all for that
the whole point in this beta is to test the system and it's very much being tested to the max at present
i do however see a massive flaw about to be highlighted once we take the bridge and I know what will follow, the usual attempts to mask an major issue with accusations of crying etc from the usual suspects, the flaw is clear to see and that is fake sieges in an attempt to block others from progressing
both bridges are blocked, one is a siege between PT-I & mnc, very little activity in that one and a queue of people waiting to siege the bridge, when we take this bridge we will be blocked by another siege between JFA & JFK 2.1, this again is a fake siege set up to stop others from assaulting the territory, it's a clever tactic and within the rules of the system however it's a clear flaw in the design which was highlighted in beta 1
allianced factions can basically block territory with these fake seiges
disclaimer - before you all start with the crying posts, I'm not cring, we would have no doubt done the same if we had the bridge first however it's an obvious flaw that will need resolving prior to the full release
Wasted E vs Wasted $$.... Every side has an opinion.
Like you said though, fun. All that matters as this is a game :)
I agree with a number of your points. Well within the tactics laid before us. Although, a second change to the rules after positions have already been set again... would be silly. Even if it is only beta.
And so it begins, the attempts the mask the issue have begun, please read the disclaimer and start thinking about what your want from the full rollout of territories and not just this beta test
edit: You were sent a Box of Tissues from DJ__
nice troll attempt DJ, stop trying to mask these flaws in your usual transparent attempt of flooding the forums with allegations of crying, it's clear from my post that you guys would try this, yes you really are that obvious these days
I'm thinking bigger picture, what do I want from territories when it's fully released, this would be a clear flaw as the top factions (SA included) would pick the territory they want and then prevent anyone else from ever having a chance to take it by blocking it with these fake seiges
this is the point of beta is it not, I think if this isn't changed prior to the full release then it would just be an updated version of the current borefest we have now!
I did read the fake disclaimer, enjoy those tissues. And I do not care much for this beta test, I have not made a single attack on SA recently. The fact you cant get on the island is not our fault. Just playing what is given to us.
Then if your not interested crawl back into the hole you came from and let the people who are keep testing the beta and highlighted possible flaws prior to the full release
as for my 'fake' disclaimer, it clearly says we would have done the same if we were there first, I don't care if we get on the island or not, I care about what the new system will be like in the full release and finding these potential flaws is what the beta release is all about
Agreed. But full release wont be like the beta, as Chedburn has stated before this is only a snippet of the full thing. Also, It's extremely unlikely he will regularly select areas on the map for factions to hold territories to later be rewarded y'know? Most betas will fix minor issues as they go, one has already been fixed. We're getting along to half way through the second challenge, he can't fix everything which prevents factions from getting to the island. There needs to be some tactics employed.
I don't expect him to fix anything during the current beta test, just want him to be aware prior to the full release, question would be that why can only one faction assault a territory at a time, could it be amended to allow for multiple assaults, maybe if a siege was taking place at the time a 3rd or 4th party desire to assault that it became a multiple war and you had to fight off the other factions to take the territory?
I guess I misunderstood then, as I thought you wanted it sorted right away. I guess it could be considered? Although we aren't all so sure of what else is in store either? So guess we need to wait and see. Also, it will be an interesting difference once it costs E to join the hill... As I'd imagine the game plan, in the current situation, would have been different from all parties! Again, feels like the beta isn't true of what territories really will be.
Name dropping deluxe, jellyness and crying is fun and all, but territories is still flawed to be a cluster-f**k of proxy-troll-battles and issues some don´t want to recognize. JFK 1, 2, 2.1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 of the brown nose alliance might disagree.
I thought I had made it clear in my original post that I was talking about the full release, sorry
im still not sure about the e to join the hill, 25 e seems rather steep, not sure about the use of e at all tbh, maybe it will be a purchasable special to reduce the e requirement, who knows what Ched has in mind
do you not think that factions with silly stated players would gain an advantage by sticking u touchable players on the hill for little cost, the likes of BB, Gonzo, Z, LW are damn hard to take out and it would be a major problem for low level factions, I think the whole point of the hill should be about the more active faction prevails rather than one who can log in, stick their top 5-10 on the hill and leave for hours at a time with no worry
i want a system where the little guys can win if they are active enough, it's boring when it's just the usual suspects dominating even when they aren't very active
100% agreed. We even had a laugh last night debating whether we wanted to waste the 250 or so E just to try take LW off the hill (strictly for the yay factor). I'm unsure what Chedburn has planned, but I would also say he isn't a million miles off a system which could create a lot of diverse fun :)
As for now, SA are employing their own tactics and so are the rest of us. We've been dealt cards, play them and try enjoy it :)
I do agree with you here about fake Sieges but in the long term when the full territory is out nobody is gonna have time to do that.. No one can block a path 24/7..
It only works in when there's a timeframe given which sadly is given for this competition, this tactic is only useful for this testing competition tbh.. In the long run you won't be seeing that..
Plus you'll have whole map available you can always work your way around..
It was funny reading our chat yesterday when JFA were trying to get him off the wall (with the help of the rest of the sinister 8 lol)
they were gang banging him, 8-9 people at a time, they would take him out and seconds later he would get revived and be on again, yet they kept on doing it, thousands of e used and in my opinion wasted just to get one guy off the wall, eventually they gave up trying but it just highlights another issue right there
this is the problem with torn, people highlight issues and they are not responded to quick enough, we've seen it over the years,
stock market, trillions made, eventually fixed but the damage is still there for all to see with players having hundreds of billions which have allowed them to become untouchable to most.
self busting - allowed players to gain enormous amounts of Dex and they are still almost untouchable for most
SEs - booster cooldowns brought in so late that players are now so far ahead that they will never ever be caught, even if they themselves quit
the list goes on, what we need to make sure happens is that any flaws we find in this system are highlighted now and not kept hidden like some would like so that they can use these flaws to their advantage when the system is released
Who knows Has but like in my previous post, we need to make sure these flaws are highlighted now so that they don't become the next self busting issue etc
If they allow multiple sieges that can be exploited too and think that can be exploited way more than current way... For the sake of discussion Let's say you're fighting a faction, your opponent ask their multiple allies to declare on them and they just roll over against them.. You'll be handicapping yourself there you'll have to kick 20 people off the hill and keep 10 on the hill but in one on one case you'll only have to kick 10people off the hill..
Could mean every faction divided into groups of ten and that would be clusterf**k..
